What an actual awful fix. LOL thank god you are not a dev.
Or just dont trade him that simple, if 1 person falls for it he now knows he will get others
He won the loot he can decide what he does with it
5k is nothing in WoW anymore anyways
Game is ruined over LFR loot? Crazy
The “LFR loot” is immaterial. It’s a disappointment at the human condition. Surely you can recognize that.
I dunno.
I feel getting upset over this is a waste of energy. Nobody is guaranteed to win loot. Even if the selfish person doesn’t win the loot doesn’t mean it would have been your loot (unless only two of you rolled)
It’s cheesy folks are like that, but we shouldn’t be surprised by how selfish folks can be. I’ve only done LFR a few times. Never won anything, never expected to. I went to do the thing and I did it so I was happy.
Op needs loot and the sellers needs gold. Seems like a win-win to me.
A very Machiavellian stance.
Starving orphans need food and coal mine owners need labor
SOUNDS LEGIT, YO
There’s a lot of actually disappointing things about the human condition. Someone trying to flip some imaginary videogame stuff isn’t one. If people are interested, they can buy it, if not, they can ignore it - or they can vote to kick.
Just loot the boss, make your rolls, and move on. Problem solved.
Add “limit expectations” too
For someone who maybe hasn’t seen all the lovely horrors that life has to offer, or views a game as a retreat from reality in the hopes of finding teamwork and a like-minded community, it certainly can be a disappointment.
In any event – what gives Person A a right to decide what is a disappointment or not for Person B?
Not following provided and implicitly agreed upon social guidelines is generally considered a “jerk move”. Realizing there are some egregious jerks out there really sucks sometimes.
Side note: Do I think the phrase “I hate this game now!” is an overreaction and/or exaggeration? Yea, probably. I think it’s rooted in disappointment (as stated by the OP) but the main point being: It’s not about it being specifically about LFR loot. You can be disappointed the random person who you grouped with for one quest needed on a malachite in the starter zone, and then tried to sell it to you.
There a children in the world starving because of LFR loot?!
You’ve heard of analogies, surely. This is intentionally obtuse.
As is comparing video game loot to starving orphans.
So, do you legit not understand or are you trolling? I obviously really like to give people the benefit of the doubt, as you can tell.
Well, you identified your problem if you’re looking for this in LFR (or any pug really.)
Fair point, but as you point out in your edit,
Anyone can perceive something as an overreaction.
As these threads are generally about LFR it gets the focus. Most folks probably don’t remember one quest from a starter zone, and having agency to do what you want with your loot is considered a boon by a lot of people. (Remember, GL makes it easier to give loot away in your idyllic community than PL did)
I just think you’re dramatic and whiny to be “disappointed with in the human condition” over LFR loot.
And that’s certainly your right to think so, but it doesn’t make it any less valid to find out just how many jerks there are in the world.
So I’ll take it you were just trolling there. Thank goodness for that, at least.
Absolutely. But remember what my original reply was about – that this was over “LFR loot”. My response was that it wasn’t really about “LFR loot”, and the deflection to what kind of loot it was is just a derailment of the core reasoning.
I was being trollish, sorry. But this is what I have an issue with. If person A and person B both complete the content, they both deserve and can do what ever they choose with the loot they won.
LFR isn’t a guild group trying to achieve group progress. It’s randoms spending their time to maybe get some loot or make money. Neither thing makes anyone a jerk.
Well, two things:
-
Being a jerk is subjective. So what makes someone a jerk in your mind is probably going to be different from what makes someone a jerk in another’s mind.
-
Loot rolls are designed to follow certain guidelines provided by Blizzard:
- Need = upgrade
- Transmog = transmog
- Greed = sell/shard
- Pass = self explanatory
Generally speaking, people that don’t follow prescribed guidelines in a situation like this might be considered “jerks” by people that do. If someone rolled “need” on an item in this situation and proceeded to sell it, I would consider that person a “jerk”.
EDIT: Thanks for being straightforward about your earlier actions. Definitely appreciated.
