Did I say that? Nope, but the people I started playing with in Vanilla, and those who stuck around 15 years like I have all have the same feelings. I was in my thesis year of Uni when this game released, my priorities are much different now than they were then. I came from games like EQ and the original FF, where you had to group to get anything done, and that was the initial draw for a lot of us back then, the ability to solo. Yes, we get new people to the game on the daily, yes priorities are different to some, but for you to outright dismiss this fact is silly.
It took til Cata for them to add LFR, which in our case, gave us a larger player pool to choose from. People wanted to try harder content after dipping their toes into LFR. I still do LFR not only due to my health reason, I am a mog hoarder, and that gives me yet another color to choose from.
I have no interest in being talked at by you again today like yesterday and the day before if you are still unwilling to respond to things I actually ask you.
that was what killed it for me. THEIR behavior.
I was somewhere around 900 in Legion and was looking at how to join a guild and maybe do some normals.
Then had the misfortune of having to deal with a ‘real’ raiders seriously abusive lashing out at other players over a petty mistake.
Yeah…no thanks…these guys can keep their raiding. I’ll stick with LFR.
I know myself. if I saw that in a raid Id likely say something that’d scar them for life before I quit the raid and the guild.
I play for my own fun…not to deal with abusive kids in a video game
You realise saying " No offence" doesn’t actually stop whatever you say being offensive. If anything it makes it more likely what you say next will be offensive.
It’s like when someone says “I’m not racist” you can guarantee the next thing they say will be racist. Lol.
It isn’t always an option though. The last time I checked the raid listings, there were only 5. Two were fresh, one of those were a “don’t suck or get kicked” group. Two were partially cleared (I wanted a fresh run), and one was an advertisement. And if I did sign up for any of them there was no guarantee that they’d invite me, or how cool they would be.
What I’m seeing there is that there were 2 groups you could have joined that were fresh.
The option of making your own groups always exists. I know that is a whole thing for you but it doesn’t stop it being available
But you are painting everyone with the same brush, and that helps nothing either. I got into earlier with one who kept using “get good”, I am ashamed of myself for descending to that level.
There are so many great high end raiders out there, who will proactively help others. The forums represent maybe 5% of players, and to be honest I think that percentage is very high ranged in my opinion. Most don’t even have LFR as a blip on their radar.
I’ve seen people react like this at work, it doesn’t matter what forum you are in some are just beyond the realm of common sense. I’ve encountered those myself, they earn a coveted place on my ignore list, and I move on simple as that.
Just look around these threads. Not worth the risk. I like playing. that wont last long if I run into that sort even once where I feel obligated to a guild theyre in.
Im sure theyre are. that big guild I was in for a few months helped me get a lot of stuff I need. But those were REAL raiders…not ‘real’ raider. And since I cant tell one from the other till the mouth opens and the childish hate spews out, i t just aint worth the risk.
thats kinda my point. I play video games to get away from the chumps and abusive sorts in the real world. I like this game for the most part. I like playing it. Id like to keep it that way.
Twitch views don’t mean anything as far as revenue goes.
You are trying to refute one the biggest entertainment tracking companies in the world with Twitch viewership numbers. Your attempt to do so is actually pretty funny. It just goes to show how uninformed you are.
Wow lol, DFO is a Korean game the bulk of the people playing this game are in Asia. You seriously need to do your homework here.
Steam doesn’t publish revenue earning info. I don’t get what point you are trying to make here? Warcraft still rakes in a lot of money, it is still one of Blizzard’s best revenue generators. The Neilsen data is pretty much backed up during the quarterly earnings calls for Act-Blizz.
And thank you for correcting my error.
now that we all can see how great this game is actually doing, thanks to your information, I think we can conclude that blizzard is doing a bang up job keeping those sub numbers up and people playing.
good then…LFR hasnt killed the game after all
Theres nothing wrong with it.
Its only a problem in their own minds.
Just look at the reasons they keep putting up here. NONE of them are actually relevent to THEIR game play…including socializing and gear which is easily gotten from other sources to begin with.
Then you aren’t looking to play with others. No matter what game you play you are bound to encounter someone you can’t stand, I’ve been in my guild for a year now Horde side and there are three that I can’t personally stand. So I avoid doing smaller groups like mythics with them. In a raid setting, they tend to keep their rhetoric to a minimum and that’s ok by me.
Even in kindergarten there was a box that talked about playing well with others, it’s a concept that has been pushed on us since we were kids. It’s up to you to find a guild with the least amount of personal friction for you. Part of the reason I went Horde this time was I ended up in a guild filled with self perceived one per-centers. They felt they were Bob’s gift to the game. The turn over rate for players was so high, the negative comments were so frequent, that myself and about five others had enough and left, virtually killing that guild. No matter how much they tried to recruit, their attitudes inevitably killed them in the end. That’s the circle of life when it comes to guild sustainability, you find like minded individuals or perish.
Been there. I do my best to ignore folks like that. My previous guild had two such people that I inevitably put on ignore. It worked fine up until Battle of Dazar’alor though when we got to Mekkatorque. Talk about awkward when it was me and those two guys in the robots.
