If a someone has not made a comment on a subject then you cannot infer anything about their stance, inferring from actions or lack thereof is also highly suspect unless you know the motivations behind said actions, which can change the context significantly, otherwise it’s just assumption.
If you want to use said quotes nothing is stopping you, but realize that the quotes being 7.5 years old makes them less impactful than if the quote was more recent, that’s all I’m saying.
I remember when Ghostcrawler did his elitist rant about how important raiding is, and that more then one percent in the game do it. With his pointer and slide show, back in Vanilla. I looked at the numbers he was showing. Looked at the released sub count. Was like wow, he is right more then one percent raid, its actually a whole ten percent that raid in the game. Wow, I guess ten percent to him, is more important than the ninety percent left over. Guess what changes hit in B.C. which made raiding more accessible.
Not making any comments on his stances of various game systems, just that I appreciated that he tried to keep the players informed far better imo than the dev’s for the last 2 expacs.
I mean how many undocumented changes have gone live in bfa alone so far?
I have a lot of regrets about Raid Finder for WoW. I am sure I worked on features that were much, much worse, but that’s the first one that came to mind.
To be clear, the goal of getting more players into raiding is a good one. But the way Raid Finder turned out removed, IMO anyway, a lot of the epicness of what made raiding raiding. I also haven’t played WoW in a few years, so it’s entirely possible they have solved the problem by now
