they added the buttons for easy of use, not because “only type of progression is stats”

That is quite literally the most likely scenario as I detailed in my own post. If it wasn’t the case and there WAS indeed a higher ilvl item either equipped or otherwise in their inventory, then this discussion doesn’t exist. There would be no option for a need roll for that player.
The thing I find more concerning however is how many people are actually still saying “tHaT’s WhY yOu aLwAyS rOlL nEeD!” this many years into the game despite multiple changes to curb that abhorrent behavior.
Christ, it actually feel like the WoW community has mentally regressed about 15-18 years years if that’s the prevalent mindset.
The mog/disenchant buttons might as well not exist. Using them basically guarantees that you’re throwing away your roll since 1 need roll from anyone regardless of their intent removes you from the running on that item.

If MicroBlizz is going to keep going with GL in LFR, then people are going to keep abusing it. They need to put all queueable content on PL and all non-queueable content on GL / ML.
people have provided solutions, mostly just keeping mog rolls and gearing up rolls seperate. There is absolutely no reason why they can’t make it so one person wins the gear and tmog and the other person can just get the transmog.
Also, if the transmog is so important, then grind it out like the rest of us.

Imagine if somebody came by, took your paycheck, and then beats you up for not having the money to pay them back. You can’t because they took the money to pay up.
You take the gear they need so they can’t do damage, therefore you look like you are carrying, meanwhile if you would just back the hell up and let other people get the gear, you would find a lot of people that are actually really good but can’t keep up becaues the dude coming in with full blown mythic gear is doing tripple the damage, as if anybody would be surprised at that…
allthat does is mean everybody else has to come back a billion times just to get geared so they can keep up.
Meanwhile you likely have organized groups and friends you play with or at least a guild.
Believe it or not, most guilds suck when it comes to actually doing content with their members. IT’s usually like 3 cliques that all do content together and then everybody else has to go kick rocks and figure it out on their own. Not part of the raid team? Sucks to be you, ya know?
Your transmog is not worth harming the community as a whole by holding everybody back for so long just so you can pick up some transmog that we all know you won’t be using more than once because you get distracted by the next new shiny toy…

you are correct in what happens, however…that kind of goes back to what they said, which is that people need to use the buttons apropriately.
Be honest about it, ya know? But shiny in a video game also means they get to pretend they carried, because they have all the player power sitting in their bags for mog while you can’t even get one single natural loot roll and have to wait till the weekly reset just to hope that there is even one good piece among the 9 piece of loot you have available…
But you know, people just gotta have their utterly useless, pointless, irrelevant appearances they won’t use more than maybe twice…

I mean, you’re free to do what you want. But the design of the system incentivizes people to look out for number 1, so that’s what they’ll do.
There’s no incentive to invest in someone you’ll never see again the same way there was when players were on the same server and actually interacted with eachother more than once. If they’re never going to see a return on their investment in other players, players just won’t invest in anyone but themselves.

I’ve been trying to make this argument for years. They won’t admit it but they put this system in place because a large amount of the player base whined to get to be able to physically see the rolls cause they don’t understand how dumb their brains are. So we got a roll system in place. People think it’s better but it’s actually not. This problem you mention is one of a number of variables that actually increase played time. I did the math and it takes about 40% longer to get gear with a rolling system as compared to a personal system. Blizz only made this change cause they saw the players would want it and “claimed” that it would be better for the players but in reality they really did it to increase time played.

They need it for mog (the real endgame).
People are still gearing up using LFR? I just did level 8 delves with 570ilvl, and got 603 gear.
Because I can’t get LFR gear any other way for some reason. The transmog is exclusive to LFR which is something they need to hurry and change.
Too bad when you use a catatlyst charge you can’t choose a lesser appearance if you’ve already got higher one.
Or… ya know let us buy the the ensemble once we outgear it…

I agree. I wish we had the old personal loot system for LFR. It didn’t need to be changed.
you mean how it was group loot then changed to personal loot then changed back to how it use to be?
And if people hit “tmog roll” they’d never win anything. So why would they queue in the 1st place? Nobody geared would come to carry. And you’d likely have a lot longer queue times too.
They need to put it back to Personal Loot
