this is for dungeons smart guy. you get deserter on them now as well.
Which isnât what anyone is talking about. The change for dungeons also affects LFR, which is stupid considering thereâs already a weekly lockout.
Topic is LFR , not so smart guy.
Blizzard expects you to sometimes help a player who isnât you? Clearly a worse disaster than the Cataclysm!
Yes, screwing over groups by ditching them mid run is the exact behavior deserter was intended to discourage. AKA punish.
Maybe they should consider more carrot, though. Like every LFR boss you kill after already having your chance at actual gear gives gold or valuable mats instead â enough to get people to feel their time isnât wasted by staying to finish, but something that doesnât screw up their expected ilvl gain per week.
this type of design decision screams out-of-touch developers
did you just confess that you deserted the group ?
Same thing just happened to me as well. I can understand if you do a dungeon (with no lockout) and drop after first boss that it makes sense, but if you join an LFR where the only boss that youâre eligible to loot is the first one, then you should not be penalized for leaving that after you get your last kill for the week.
With this debuff going account wide soon, players need to be informed whether thereâs any bosses dead when their queue pops so they have a choice. Itâs unfair to punish players who join an in-progress raid by forcing them to kill those same bosses again when they requeue that wing for the boss they missed the first time.
This discussion duplicates Blizzard Punishing People for Backfilling LFR - vote for thread mergeâŠ
Doesnât look like itâs working very well.
Stackable lockout debuff.
First time you leave itâs a standard debuff. Each time after it stacks. Keep the folks who donât care about anyone but themselves and their gear out of the LFx and force them to navigate raids outside the tool so folks who are using the tool arenât put out.
Right now it feels like bad acting is the path to greatest rewards and it appears to be catching on more and more.
Bad implementation, if you backfill a previous raid you should be excluded from the debuff. The person who originally bailed out on the raid you backfilled for reserved it.
Furthermore, being kicked from a dungeon should not give you deserter. You didnât desert you have been kicked. Iâve been kicked for accidently falling down a cliff after a deep breath on a timewalk run and once because my computer didnât load the dungeon fast enough and then got 30 minutes deserter debuff⊠(you can basically grief players with the Deserter debuff)
If youâre kicked for being AFK, then the client can see youâre AFK and then you should get the debuff.
The reason for the deserter for being kicked is when LFD first came out in Wrath, if a tank or healer got a dungeon they hated, mainly Occulus, they would refuse to do the dungeon and demand to be kicked to avoid the debuff. Blizz changed it so that being kicked no longer circumvents the debuff. So blame diva tanks and healers.
Itâs a ridiculous addition to LFR. I qued for the first wing got in on the second boss, so after I was done requed to kill the first boss. I kill the other two, so left and got the debuff. Why would I waste time running the rest of it if Iâm not getting anything from it? Itâs just added to drag out that in game time, you either wasting 30 mins fighting or 30min waiting.
I swear these people donât think before they put in changes like this. Getting a deserter for not wanting to waste 45 minutes of my time is completely ridiculous.
yep thats how it should be, Why you DONT Que for your 1 boss until you finish ALL the others then que for that 1 boss you need, alwasy finish the others first
Yes, this is a prime example of when the community was screaming at blizzard to do something, when the long term best thing for blizzard to do would actually be to do nothing.
