LFR dungeon deserter?

Got into LFR after first boss. Finished the next two bosses. Requeued and killed the first boss and left. Got dungeon deserter. Really??

Yeah, just another poorly thought out change. They think you should stay, even if you are loot locked and have nothing to gain.

That does sound short sighted. I get it in dungeons, but not in raids. That’s just silly.

It would be nice if they could add a check or something to see if you have killed all of the bosses of the wing that week and only give deserter if not.

I can kind of see why they do it though… if you get screwed because someone before you bailed after one boss, then your decision to bail screws over the next guy who replaces you. That will continue over and over, wasting people’s time (having to wait through two queues instead of one) because one dbag bailed on that first raid.

Personally, I think they should put in the test to see if you completed the full wing when you bail, and if not, you cannot queue any content for the rest of the day on ANY character on your account. If you have an emergency that forces you to bail, then take the day to fix it. If your connection drops, take the day to make sure it is fixed and stable. If you have wife aggro, spend the day with her.

That idea is mostly to stop people from bailing after they kill the one boss they need and screwing over countless others.

Yeah the lockout factor in raids really makes it kind of unfair to apply the same penalties as you would in dungeons.

When i queue for LFR i only got 2 boss and missed the first boss . The next day i queue for LFR , I did just the first boss and left the raid . In which i got the 30 min. deserter .
I have felt i gotten punish for doing the 2 bosses and got nothing .
I only did the 1st boss and got nothing . Plus being slapped with a 30 min. deserter on to top of everything else . Only the thing i accomplish is punishment out of LFR .

Dungeon deserter doesnt distinguish between dungeon and raid groups. If you leave a group you random queued into, and leave before you complete the instance you get the debuff

Blizzard changed dungeon deserter to be applied even if you are saved to a boss, this includes LFR.

This is obviously an improper application of dungeon deserter that needs to be removed.

its to stop people from farming one boss and dropping over and over again. deal with it.

I logged in just to +1 this. Makes no sense to penalize you when you sometimes have to do something twice because there’s no option where you start.

That’s what the lockout is for. What are you on about?

Deserter or spend 30 mins killing bosses you don’t need?

Quite the choice Blizz.

GG.

Had the same thing happen last week. Thankfully inwas sitting outside of a Delve and doing that ate up most of the deserter debuff. I was half expecting it , so i set myself up to be able to laugj about it

You can only loot an LFR boss once a week Tundra. So, you would be incorrect on that comment

If they want this change to make sense they need to add a toggle that makes you ONLY que for fresh runs.

Otherwise its a asinine change.

Blame your fellow players for this change. The players threw a hissy fit temper tantrum in regards to players leaving groups demanding that Blizzard instate more penalties for anyone leaving a group at any time, Blizzard listened, and Blizzard provided.

This change will fix any future issues with loot on any boss in any order.

Thank you for listening to the players, Blizzard!

Yep, I agree. The players demanded this change and Blizzard provided it!

Working as intended.

But you can’t farm a raid boss.

Folks act like it hasnʻt been told to us before that the dungeon deserter penalty will be applied to EVERYTHING not just that one instance folks skipped out on to farm the trinket.

Its like the “Why was i suspended? i did nothing wrong!” posts

Quite frankly i think ppl like you just needed to deal with someone leaving, because someone joins less than 30m after.

Its an asinine change that realistically does absolutely nothing to stop people from leaving early.

Before i might have been inclined to help. Now ill leave right away. Get that 30m counter started.
