LFG Kick Abuse - Needs a Solution Bliz

It sounds like an idea similar to your 5 second delay.
Like an “are you sure?”.

Well honestly I was a part of the Timewalking community. There was a decent chunk of the community who paid $15 to theorycraft and design characters around the Timewalking scaling system.

That got destroyed when they scaled everyone up and the last bastion that isn’t the ‘you must play the game we prescribe to you’ community is the twinking community and I’m all for them finding fun by min-maxing a level bracket.

So a countdown and also a confirmation box? I guess if we annoy people enough to the point they don’t even initiate a kick, they’ll just suffer through degenerate behavior out of sheer laziness.

These threads always seem to boil down to finding ways to make it easier for people like OP to be a detriment to the group and make it harder for them to get kicked.

I think it was more of an “either or”, but that works too :joy:

I dunno… it sounded like an “in addition to” to me. But maybe I’m wrong!

Edit: apparently I wasn’t wrong. :woman_facepalming:

Confirmation box, THEN countdown. And a conformation box to confirm the first.

Last 4 of ssn to confirm. With a captcha. And identify which boxes have a bike in them.

My mage is 637 ilvl frostfire frost. The lvl 10 fury warrior queuing as tank made me obsolete. I do get your point though. It’s just not over my issue with dungeons.

Yeah i would say that would be the case. However, the initiator would be the abuser in this case.

Initiate a kick > Party is informed of the kick attempt and promt to choose “yes” or “no” > Party member selects “yes” > the system promts you with a warning message “You are about to remove a player from the group. Confirm. Deny.”

Often when we are editing a page of content for one reason or another and attempt to leave without saving, we are given a prompt to save. It’s along the same lines as that. Another example would be deleting an epic item from your bags in game.

I’m just going to go back to this, then:

Its not abuse to start a vote to kick, though.

It would need a long standing dedicated pattern.

I’ve never been kicked from a group as a dps, tank, or healer. Just do your job the best you can, DON’T bring friends/family along who have no clue how to play their class, and if you have to afk for a min, BE SOCIAL and let the party know quick afk kid etc. Just don’t be gone longer than a min if that. If you think you will get interrupted a lot, don’t queue right then.

Happy dungeon running!

And you have to type “Im PoSiTiVeLy SuRe” in alternating caps and lower case.

Swap to arcane and watch the numbers.

Its also the difference between melee and casters.
You have to stand and cast. I can charge in throw some bombs and hit butchery and watch everything fall over.

I’ve recently came back to WoW after BFA. The only other time since Vanilla that I haven’t played was during MoP. I say that so you know that I have been in 1000s and 1000s dungeons with strangers. To be totally honest I rarely if ever see people kicked unless they went AFK.

I know that isn’t helpful and I truly hope this doesn’t sound rude, but could it be that the problem isn’t the other players? Now if it is the case that it is something that you are doing don’t get upset or give up on the game. At some point all of us have done something wrong that negatively affected the four other people we were playing with. When that happens with me I figure out a way to do what I wanted to do when I wasn’t playing with four strangers that just wanted to get their leveling or weekly quests done. The random queues are meant for those activities.

What you can do though is make a premade group with friends or strangers that you let everyone know up front that you want to do everything, learn the dungeon, and take your time. Please, please, please don’t take this as I am being rude. I loathe people being rude over the internet and I truly hope this can help you get what you want and understand that they were just doing what the four of them wanted.

Honestly if I can ever help you out learning WoW you are more than welcome to hit me up.

P.S. I do totally agree the 30 minute debuff is dumb and they should change it. At least when you get it from being kicked out of a pug once.

Its a dated timer from when dungeons used to take that long, if not longer.
Og strath lfg. You were looking at a minimum of 45 minutes. Now you can run it in 10 lol.

It was added in TWW lol.

I … don’t think protecting people who choose to suffer out of laziness is a good excuse to minimizing abuse of a game system.

Its not in itself, no. I would consider marking a forum post as spam as abuse of the spam system, issuing copyright strikes on a youtube channel you dont like as abuse of youtube’s strike system, and voting to kick someone because they want to kill a boss you dont want to kill as abuse of the kick system.

Splitting hairs but it’s not spam. This is what… my 2nd forum post of all time? I would hardly consider myself abusing these rules. If I am, I accept punishment.

No it wasn’t, it was expanded in TWW to still apply after the first boss

30 minutes has been around for YEARS.
TWW update made it apply at any point in the dungeon. Prior, it didn’t apply after you killed a boss.
