Spam is also what I personally would flag it for, it I were to flag it considering the options we have available though, Inappropriate would also be, appropriate imho.

I stopped playing on classic after Ulduar. I participated in 1 post iirc on Valhajar.
Back in vanilla a priest could mind control an opponent and run them out of the dungeon.
As far as deserter and kicks. I believe it is working just fine. I rarely see a kick, maybe 1 out 200 runs at the most. I can only think of three times where i was kicked. Those complaining about abuse seem to have a problems.
Why is each of the “i was kicked toxic reee” story always like the least believable thing possible

The vote-kick system works fine. I just got booted for being rooted the entire fight on a melee character and “not hitting the boss” because of it. Sometimes you just get idiots in the dungeon who don’t know any better. Only thing you can do is hope you don’t get queued into them again. I’m pretty sure the ignore list makes it so you can’t get random queued with those people, but I’m not 100% sure on that.
