LFD kick abusers have made the WoW experience miserable for my friend

and clearly get bunched up and offended when their behavior is pointed out lol

Personally I think they need to lock the game down entirely.
This is an MMO and its RUINED over the behavior of players like we see in this thread abusing and misusing a feature that was added to rid a group of someone causing real problems in a group.

Suspensions should happen if someone is busted vote kicking numerous times and no justifiable reason can be proven.

edit…and hanging on my every word ISNT gonna change squat.

The justifiable reason is that the majority of the group (or full group if there is a partial premade) did not wish to play with them.

for any reason, as per Blizzard’s own statements. Your refusal to accept that is immaterial.

So the majority of a group agreeing to kick you is…a behaviour now?

You can already do that yourself. Log out. Stop giving the company you hate money. Vote with your wallet.

Sure…that makes sense. I vote that you should be the one to come up with the list of reasons that people are allowed to vote to kick for and those are the only ones that should be in-game…so people will only be allowed to vote for your reasons and all will be non-abuse

Thankfully, I’m on your perma-ignore  So I know you’re not talking to me. I think replying to someone who you have on ignore should be a perma-bantacular-suspension-event!!!

as i said…youre both ignored, I dont read your posts. I hope you can come to terms with that fact
IF you swap alts, Ill ignore those too

Just do world content/quests to level. Otherwise you are asking others to carry you, which is not fair to them when you don’t know the content.

I have a classic Andy friend that decided to try retail. He refused to actually play retail and instead only tried to tank leveling dungeons. He kept getting kicked, but would not take my advice because he was in top 10 of parses for his classic server. I took him through a few dungeons trying to teach him, but he claimed it was too easy because of my level. Classic andy syndrome is severe.

Big fish small pond. Also, classic mechanics (both boss/class) are a complete joke compared to retail.

Or find a guild. Or a Discord. Or a community.

How did you get this out of anything I said? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Not my communities.

Nobody is going to waste time investigating this schoolyard nonsense.

Its really not like that and this crowd knows it.
Consider what it is theyre whining about here.
We’re not talking kicking in M+ where players are good enough …or raiding where raiders are top notch.

No…THESE folks are talking about kicking people for NO reason in lowbie leveling dungeons and even current where you can run with THREE players and get it the run done without breaking a sweat…LOLOLOLOL

THAT is the context here in most of this thread.
So miserable that evidently the kicks we get in life is the empty thrill of kicking a player from group content for NO REASON whatsoever.

if you think im being hyperbolic READ THEIR POSTs here where OVER AND OVER they persist in reminding us that daddy bliz gave them permission to abuse their fellow gamers by kicking them, not needing ANY VALID reason to do so.

THEY are the ones burying themselves and their behavior, not anything anyone else has said or done, by THEIR continually insisting that its ok for them to kick their fellow gamers from a group without a JUST cause lolololol

I fully understand the point youre trying to make, but we ARENT talking about any content that matters…OR even hard content.

This entire discussion is about EASY no brain required content and we know that because, again, no one is kicking anyone who is good enough for M+ or in a raiding guild for NO REASON whatsoever and we know it.

We’ve ‘carried’ healers, tanks and even a couple DPS frequently enough in trash content.
If these folks are having to kick players in that content my guess is they arent as good at even easy content as they want to think they are if theyre struggling that badly with a single mediocre player in a 5 man group.
meaning ‘carry’ is seriously hyperbolic itself.

If four players are so devastated in normal or heroic 5 man dungeon that ONE player not being so great is causing them to fail the run then they have far bigger problems than someone not being M+ ready the first time they run a normal queued dungeon lol

The trouble is that “schoolyard nonsense” seems to be how Blizzard thinks of any negative player behavior these days.

Unless you undercut the local RMT cartel on work orders, of course. That’s grounds for a default punishment that’s on you to appeal, go figure. Or for at least one person I read about, a perma because he’d slipped up once and accidentally tested a trade macro in say, so he counted as the spammer instead, ROFL.

Yeah, vote kicks really need some better basis than “lul bad” - ESPECIALLY if Blizzard wants more engagement with the queued formats (which eg the retail s4 dungeon rebalance indicates they do). ESPECIALLY when the penalty system then treats the involuntary kickee as if they’d actively chosen to ditch.

But fixing that requires actual GMs sifting through things, like say FFXIV still does, and apparently Blizzard is too cheap to expand CS staff anymore (which is why we’re in this leaky boat to begin with) … sigh

Eh, they’ll get the first tank to queue without having to worry about matching a healer too. Probably not that long of a wait in most cases.

Yeah I agree that’s how it should be.

FFXIV officially has a similar rule (although there’s a tendency for SE to make a lot of excuses to let the kicking side off the hook, like claiming that the kick is justified due to “incompatible playstyles” or some other tomfoolery), and also doesn’t punish a kickee by giving them the deserter penalty because they properly handle the situation that prompted this being the case in WoW (people who’d deliberately idle in order to get a kick rather than having to eat the penalty for leaving) as a griefing violation that is actioned against the account.

The real problem is ActiBlizz don’t want to spend enough money on actual GMs (they cut their CS staff to the bone a few years ago, even), so they pretty much leave the entire system to basically become Lord of the Flies unless it’s something they can handle in an automated fashion … usually in a half baked fashion that ignores real problems (some of them very serious, like grooming or stalking - good luck getting a report on any targeted personal harassment to stick because you’re just one report) while easily allowing the robo-punishments to be abused by trolls (e.g., the aforementioned RMT cartels, who have their entire Discord put in tickets against people that interfere with their gold making, or the mass reporting that made the whole AQ40 event in Vanilla Classic into a pathetic joke).

It’s sad because WoW is still a pretty good game on its merits, but people suck and despite lip service like the Social Contract and making it so, for instance, certain especially offensive words (e.g., the most blatant of slurs) can’t even be transmitted (i.e., it’s not even left up to folks to report, the game will just flat out refuse to accept a message that contains e.g. the N word), there’s nowhere near enough done to moderate player behavior :frowning:

Cataclysm was very tough in the beginning. You had to know the fights and CC movs in dungeons. If your friend gets easily overwhelmed, playing a healer is a very bad idea. You also can’t ask a group of pugs to keep wiping to help someone they’ll likely never see again.

Join a social casual group and ask people to run with them. Tell your friend to play an easier class like a hunter or a frost mage. Good luck. I know it sucks to get kicked but when it happens often, it’s a “your friend” problem. I had this happen to me back then too and I learned to play my class before joining pugs again.

yeah but this is classic and this a post-nerf cata.
tbh i did not realise he was talking abt cata dungons and
i dont know why his healer friend would be kick
the first boss is literally:

  1. move in and out of the tornados.
  2. heal through the unavoidable aoe dmg.

thats it. thats only 2 things u need to do in the fight as a healer
its almost impossible to screw up bc its so easy. kinda an odd fight to be kicked on…

We’ve had players bail in those cata dungeons and easily done them with four players. lol
I have noticed that every now and then the one thats under water…cant think of the name…no coffee yet, lol…the math seems to go wonky and stuff will be hitting so hard that even the trash is two shotting us.
But that happens maybe once in a year …rarely ever have seen it do it.

Other than that, the dungeons seem just fine if one player isnt 100% up to par with everyone else.

You do realize you can say the wrong thing as much as you want, but it will still be wrong.

And claiming anyone other than yourself is obsessive about this topic is the definition of irony…

Obviously should be more ready for the content, but then this IS an M M O according to some of the same people in here whining that they are ALLOWED by daddy bliz to kick anyone they want for jokes like their transmog choices. lol…maybe being a little more tolerant of new players, HELPING them learn the game, is what MMO players SHOULD be doing instead of behaving like we see in this thread?

Most of the groups I see would allow a new player to learn their role, unlike the ones we see in this thread. LOLOLOLOL

Ive been adding the names in these threads to my ignore list in game, hopefully that works so I NEVER get grouped with these folks in here.

its BRAIN DEAD EASY CONTENT…and evidently some are so bad at it they cant ‘carry’ one player…while WE have run it with as few a three players before

Then maybe players should be less hostile when advice on how to get better is given.

Actual new players are pretty likely to listen, and want to improve. The problem, is you can’t always tell them from the long time militant bad players, who take any suggestion of something they could do to improve as an insult, and proceed to have a meltdown.
