LFD kick abusers have made the WoW experience miserable for my friend

This is LFD we’re talking about here. It’s very rarely actually a healing issue. It’s people eating entirely too much avoidable damage, and/or tanks who either don’t know what mitigation is, or are in fury/havoc spec.

What blizzard has done here is make themselves the scapegoat for BAD player behavior.
I dont think that was their intent, but thats the result.
By allowing kick abuse ‘for any reason’ they literally are exonerating BAD player behavior when someone kicks a player for NO reason at all, because theyve been given PERMISSION by the company to do it.

Yeah…Social Contract, blah blah blah…but they ARENT taking that thing seriously as written because its clear in the text within the Social Contract that we are supposed to be treating other players fairly and justly.
Sorry to the vote kick abusers, but kicking without a GOOD cause ISNT treating players as the social contract demands…period

Hail, traveler, and welcome to the World of Warcraft! Azeroth is a living world full of people like you - other players with different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and histories who have all come together to play World of Warcraft. Every player deserves to have a world that they feel safe in, so please take a minute to read our Social Contract.

While in Azeroth, do your best to:

  • Connect with other players and make friends! Being courteous in group content can help you and your teammates have the best time possible. Sending a friendly hello message can help set your group up for success.

  • Play as a team with your fellow players - whether in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, arenas, or out questing in the world. Do your best to support your team through your communication and behaviors so that you can all celebrate your success together.

  • Assist other players that you encounter in the world. Maybe they need some help defeating a tough monster, or maybe they could use a little healing!

  • Help answer questions others have in chat channels like General or Trade. We were all newbies once - one person offering some help can go a long way!

We recognize that the Internet is not always a safe haven. With that in mind, please note that the following behaviors are not accepted in Azeroth:

  • Hate speech, including negative comments that target another player’s identity, including aspects like race, gender, or ability

  • Harassment, threats, or abusive / derogatory language and behaviors

  • Spamming, advertising, or other disruptive behaviors

  • If you harm your fellow adventurers with any of the above behaviors, you are subject to punishment up to and including suspension of your account.

It’s a big world out there, with all sorts of people in it. So please try to be respectful of each other, and if you ever feel like somebody is acting against this code, please report those behaviors so that our team can look into it. Together, you can help us make the World of Warcraft a safe home away from home for everyone.

And even if he was bad, if he caused wipes why remove him from the group? What has happened to this community that people are so quick with giving up on something or someone?

If you go to the supermarket and the new guy at the desk is slower than the last, do you go to the boss and ask for his removal? This attitude that everyone must be a master in whatever he does, is silly.

I also wonder why the healing was so needed in this case. Did the other guys not move out of stuff on the ground, did the tank play in DPS spec…?

Having been a healer in raiding tought me one thing, there are people that you almost never need to heal in three hours and then there are those, that drain your mana like there is no tomorrow.

From my point of view, nobody can be so bad in a video game, that I would kick him from my group. But if someone is rude or toxic, he can be sure I will remove him immediately.

Please stop posting the social contract and highlighting a section on disabilities as though it relates to someone not being skilled at the game. It hasn’t been relevant at any point in this thread.

There is a mile of difference between mastery and capability to fulfill your role. If he could not maintain the healing output or mechanical requirements, it is very reasonable to remove him.

I think we both know how cruel LFD kicks can be.

A healer not decked in Heirlooms that can not heal a tank pulling entire rooms is considered bad, while in reality the tank could just pull less.

A DPS could just move out of stuff or the entire group could just do the mechanics instead of nuking the boss constantly.

If someone is a very experienced healer, outgearing content then he can heal through all of that, but not everyone is like that in LFD.

yeah…I know its your kryptonite given your behavior and treatment of other players in game son…but youre gonna deal with it, like it or not.
when you buy this forum son…THEN you tell me what not to post.

and of course its not ‘relevant’ to those who ABUSE the vote kick…becaues you dont follow the social contract in the first place

While I cannot fully disagree, it’s important to keep an eye on the context of it. These are Cataclysm classic dungeons, so they are much less forgiving than what we have in leveling now.

just put that one on ignore. Hes clearly thinks he owns the game and this forum lmao.

the Social contract is CLEAR how we are supposed to be treating other players and its absolutely NOT showing ANY spirit of tossing players out of group content for no good reason.

Your inability to read the social contract not withstanding, nobody has shown any proof of abuse of the kick system. You can be removed for any reason. You are not obligated to carry someone who cannot perform adequately their role. The social contract does not say that you have such an obligation.

Oh, an edit. There is a difference between being rude, and removing someone. Once removed, they are not a member of your team.

dude is literally DEFENDING kicking people for NO REASON then claiming it doesnt happen lol
unlike YOU, I read this forum every day. son.
Unlike you, I pay attention when the vote kick comes up and KNOW its about 90% unwarranted kicks.

YOU all and your kick abuse ARE the reason this “MMO” is so bad for new players.

back to ignore son…you AINT getting the attention here from me that youre clearly yearning for

Yes, I think you’ve made that quite clear.

Your opinion on whether a removal is warranted is your own. You have the capability to vote on that when you are in a group in LFD/LFR, and if it is a group made you have ultimate say. Your opinion in random groups does not take final say, Blizzard allows removal for any reason and will not take action unless it violates the code of conduct.

I must be triple-ignored at this point, I’d encourage you to actually read about the vote to kick system before expounding on it though.

Ironically the same sort who kicked him is the same sort whining about there not being enough healers or tanks in the game so we end up in queue waiting for one for half hour lol.

Im sure you read down thru your thread here a bit. YOu can see with your own eyes the foulness of some WoW players right here.
Dont expect them to help a new player in this MMO, but theyll remind you hourly that it IS an MMO if you decide you want nothing to do with them and ask for more solo content so you can avoid them, lol

Sure, but saying the answer for someone who does want to try their hand at healing in LFD who is being kicked on the regular (which probably isn’t even happening but hypotheticals are fun) is to play a different spec seems shortsighted at best.

That is simply not what the quoted passage says. What you quoted is saying nobody has been able to show evidence of the kick system being abused. Nothing in the social contract defines what is abusive when it relates to using the vote kick. If the majority of people in your group want you gone, they can kick per both the system implementation and what Blizzard themselves have said. You can not like that, but they are the ones who set the rules. Not us.

Tanks and DPS arent paying attention to anything but the target theyre murdering half the time.
Heal sometime…healing means you are paying attention to every member of your team instead of everything else.
When I started healing a lot thats when I started seeing just how often the vote kick was coming up where NO justification existed.
someone butt pulling a side mob isnt justification for a kick.
Someone taking a wrong turn, quickly correcting doesnt justify a kick.
I can see them all on my farmhud. I know where they are. I know if theyre taking damage or not. I know if theyve pulled something they shouldnt have. I know if theyre doing it over and over or just one time.

When I started paying attention I easily saw that 9 of 10 kicks in groups I was in were for no legit reason whatsoever.
I refused to vote. I’ll stop and watch that kick box till it disappears and catch up after…and if Im healing I guess the abusive vote kicker will just die if he pulls while Im waiting.

The foul sorts in this game will vote to kick just because they can, and you can read down thru this thread and see a long list of posters who are promoting doing just that and excusing THEIR ill behavior, putting it at blizzards feet because blizzard refuses to monitor what likely would be thousands of vote kick complaints.

LOL
it says treat your fellow gamers justly son…PERIOD.
Perma blocked.
I warned you all above ANYONE condoning kicking players for no good reason would be ignored
now complain about it and confirm the duplicitous logic.

but you know…kick them for no good reason because you can lol

Your opinion on the reason is not relevant outside of random groups you are a part of. Just because you do not agree with the reason, does not make it not justified. Anyone can be removed, for any reason.

Sad but true.
not to exaggerate, however…99% of wow players are great people.
Its just a miserable few that can make the game unbearable for new players if they have the misfortune of grouping with them.

Same when Im healing. If they kick someone and it passes and I know its for no valid reason I tell them to find another healer while theyre at it.

One run they kicked the tank over some stupidity, foul crap in the kick box…such children.
The kick comes up, trash in the reason box, passes…and yeah, I stop and tell them to find a healer while theyre waiting for a tank.
I doubt they both got replaced quick…if at all before three miserable DPS players decided to just bail themselves lol
