LFD dungeons now have a hard set timer of 15 minutes that cannot be bypassed

Ran 4 TW so far today, all under 10 minutes, 1 in under 5 minutes, all of them I had to wait out the 15 minutes from when I started the last dungeon before I could requeue for the next dungeon.

No more spamming dungeons, no more power running through lower-level content. I hope you all are happy because it won’t stop us running through dungeons at Flash levels of speed, it will just mean anyone who gets in a group with players who bolt through dungeons will now have to sit out with the rest of us.

Still happening after reset.

If a bug, not good, but not bad.

If intentional there goes low level dungeon levelling, TW queues and dungeon satchels.

But if intentional, screw players who join a dungeon who don’t get a fresh instance, they could be waiting in queue for almost nothing.

Wont this make finding tanks and healers even harder

Well, that isn’t a great change. I guess I understand what they are trying to do…but it sounds like a horrible way to do it.

Yeah, in theory.

Yeah I noticed this earlier. Two of my dungeons even went at roughly normal place and I still had to wait a couple minutes. I guess I see what they did there but it doesn’t feel all that great.

Are there any patch notes on this change?

If not, maybe it’s a bug?
It sounds like a bug to me, I don’t see a single positive thing a change like that would bring.

In a perfect world if nothing with out dungeon behaviour changes it will balance out because everyone has to wait.

But given that some tanks power through them because they can, either for things like alt TW gear farming or heroic tank satchels, if we have to now wait we might decide not to queue anymore, so you will end up with less tanks and healers.

It will appease the “I cannot press W, please force the tanks to slow down” crowd.

But it will be far, far worse for players who join a dungeon and don’t get a fresh instance, imagine waiting 10-15 minutes to get in, you zone in to the last boss, worse when you get a dungeon that zones you in to the start, by the time you run 1 minute into the dungeon the last boss is dead and you now have a 14 minute wait to requeue, you can actually get zero content and one RNG change at gear now.

And that’s 10-15 minutes IN QUEUE, not counting the time waiting to be able to requeue.

Not that I saw, but Blizz does do undocumented changes that aren’t listed at time.

If this is the case and this change is intentional, it has effectively killed dungeon leveling. My husband and I rarely do LFD at max level (only for TW for 5 dungeons) so we don’t really care.

There’s are several bug threads in the support forum for it:

e.g. Random Dungeon cool down issue since 10.2 patch

I don’t see how, I’m still going to go through the dungeons as fast as I was.

I’m just glad my last alts I am making are all for the heritage (and more chances at old world mounts) so I don’t need to spam dungeons like I used to, but if I had to it wouldn’t be good forcing us to slow down like this.

This sounds like 100% a bug

Yea, this smells like a bug

So am I, but some people might figure if you have to wait no matter how fast you go, might as well just dilly dally for 15 minutes at a time.

Or just not tank and leave that to the newbies who can only go slow.

I encountered the same thing. I’m not going slower…

If anything I’ll just end up smoking more often between dungeons. Is this what you want Blizz to give me cancer??? And in case that wasn’t obvious that was sarcasm.

Moo!

Or it might just be a bug

It is.

Just before the servers went down, I was able to queue up back-to-back about three dungeons in a row after experiencing the bug for several hours prior to that.

It’s probably a bug, that’s probably why they took the game down today to try and resolve it.

I was in a dungeon less than 10 minutes before servers went down, I still could not requeue.

Hoping it’s a bug, hoping the reset fixes it, but if it was intentional, then the reset might fix it so your ‘bug’ won’t happen again and you always get the 15 minutes.

Now that the servers are back up, I ran Skyreach and was unable to queue again for another immediately, so I guess it’s not fixed like I thought.

I really hope it is a bug, wouldn’t make sense to change it after all these years.

It would make sense, too many players whining about tanks going fast, so give the tanks an ultimatum, go slow or have a timeout between queues. Plus, it just forces us to wait to do more content, 4 dungeons per hour now instead of the potential 6-10 we could do before.

The numbers add up, if we have to wait, doing say 20 dungeons could potentially take 2 hours last week and that’s ~80 bosses we can get gear from, super easy farming and gearing.

Now those same 20 will take us no quicker than 5 hours unless we swap between alts for every queue. But if you are only trying to gear one alt, going from 2 hours to 5 hours just means you have to play longer for the same outcome.
