As promised, I've brainstormed some ideas for new Horde guilds where gaps potentially exist. This is by no means exhaustive, it is just to help provide inspiration.
RACIAL-THEMED GUILDS
Dinosaur-worshopping Loa guild
Digging heavily from the culture of the Zandalari trolls, this guild could have lots of different religious sects, such as Torga, Gonk, or Rezan. That's if it were good aligned. Wowpedia has a huge list of 38 Loa here:

Blood-troll or cultish guild
A guild could also focus on the darker, more evil Loa such as Ghuun or even some of the Amani gods from Zul'Aman such as Nalorakk or Sseratus, the Drakkari god of Snakes. There are lots of opportunities here for people who enjoy playing antagonist characters.

Huojin pandaren guild
We've had a lot of people on forums ask if we have a Horde pandaren guild, and sadly the answer is no. They're often just one person seeking similar company. There is heaps of potential here for interaction with the Tushui pandaren, without even the need for Cross RP.

Nightborne guild
Yes, believe it or not, a nightborne guild is yet to be established on Moon Guard Horde! Raniere and Ardenthel have done a great job setting up some nightborne-themed events though. So definitely contact these guys for input and advice. They might even join! There's a few possibilities for RP direction, such as an army of Thalyssra, or a group of scientists using alchemy to search for a cure. Some might even want to RP as one of the Withered.

- A guild of witches (female characters mostly) based in Drustvar
- A clan of wandering Mag'har seeking individuals who want to trace their ancestry through caravan journeys and spiritual communion
- A Blood Elf archaeology guild based on the Reliquary, which could also include the Steamwheedle Preservation Society (goblin archaeologists)
- A group of Orcs from Shadowmoon Valley that are the former clansmen of Ner'zhul. Led by his wife Rulkan (a player or NPC), the guild specialises in astronomy and star sign prophet readings
- A Forsaken Scarlet Crusade guild. Was High Inquisitor Fairbanks the only follower to be betrayed? Could there have been others cursed to the same fate?

- A group of young Tauren seeking to reclaim their lands from the centaur, quilboar, satyr, and other adversaries. This could also involve an alliance with the newly discovered Highmountain clan
- An artistic or performing guild that specialises in war dances, political speeches, the making of feather headdresses. Comprised at least partially of shaman, it draws upon the influence of the Earthen Ring and includes lots of ceremonial gatherings
- A RP-PvP guild dedicated to protecting the warfronts - such as Arathi Highlands, and old school spots like Tauren Mill
- A rogue/thieves guild, a Horde equivalent to SI: 7. This would be comprised mostly of orcs, undead, or goblin if sticking strictly to cannon lore (Shattered Hand, Deathstalkers, Gob Squad etc), or you could make a completely new faction!

I've always wanted to roll a Tauren of some kind but I keep running into a lot of creative road blocks, I know a good deal of Horde and Tauren lore but the fact is, a lot of it well... Bores me, kind of sucks when I wanna play a Warrior or some kind of melee class but Tauren are dedicated to peace and nature and such.
I also struggle with just how many lore developments there were since WotLK. I really don't wanna play a character that wasn't impacted by Orgimmar being attacked when Garrosh got overthrown, or what happened to Theramore, or when Deathwing woke up, etc. Now there's a whole Legion invasion and two major cities sacked to consider.
Anyone have any advice on how to work around these two hang-ups?
Regarding the Tauren bit, theres actually a whole tribe of Tauren that actively partake in battle and revel in it called the Ragetotem. They make up every single Tauren warrior trainer from Classic. They fight, so that others may enjoy peace. The Tauren discord called The Bluffs would be able to go into a strong amount of detail regarding them and would likely help you get set up with a character!
For the second bit, it likely wouldnt be hard to get going. Your Tauren could be a Brave who helped shelter or protect displaced civilians when Orgrimmar became a war zone.
Being so close to the Barrens, and Theramore, any Brave who protected Mulgore or any Tauren camp in the Barrens could have been effected by Deathwing cleaving the Barrens in half, or could have been one of the soldiers in Dustwallow Marsh during the battle of Theramore.

We're currently sitting at 70:30 but I'd like to see if we can shift that to 60:40. We have about 750,000 characters on MG. Moving a few of them to Horde is not impossible.
What's so good about population balance? Let me give you some ideas.
1. Wider RP perspective. Do you ever get sick of the same crowd? Want to interact as a different character but don't know how? Instead of just one place to go for RP, we could have several. More choices! Imagine the interaction if we got a Horde -Alliance mega Cross RP storyline going!
2. More people to World PvP against. Need revenge? How much better is PvP when you personally know the people you are fighting against?!
Those are the main ones. Maybe you guys can think of more reasons.
I've noticed that the old, established guilds on MG Horde are still going well. Together they form a great community.
But we need some fresh blood. We need new guilds. I've seen a few try, but fizzle and die. I want to fix that. I want to help new GMs set up and get established.
I haven't thought of a name yet. It'll probably be a discord server. Ideas welcome!
What would be amazing is if a whole Alliance guild could re-roll as Horde. I know making contacts is the hardest obstacle to overcome.

Not re-rolling or anything (I'm a Night Elf always and forever) but I do have a Hordie I'm working on getting through BfA. Just an alt but y'know. Zandalari are infinitely cooler than Kul Tirans.

Alright, so last night I was in Discord with 3 friends, fellow Drunken Knights and we couldn't agree on what to do, so I remembered this thread and suggested starting some Horde characters to get a guild going Horde-side too.
So we did! We don't have a guild name or theme yet, but we rolled 4 new Horde characters, and I personally wish I were home leveling mine right now. But work.
If any of you Horde friends see Saz'do running around, a Troll Monk, that's me!

This seems like an excellent reason to revive my Burning Blade Berserker, and hopefully get enough of a feel for the character that I can start to play her consistently.

I love this idea 100% I know of your guild of goblins very well Flywheel. I actually still might make a goblin to come RP with you guys sometime. I do think there needs to be more people to dedicate themselves to Horde. but people who go horde never stick it out. perhaps you could arrange an event and have a bunch of horde guilds come and recruit new hordies on alts as a start? people do it in stormwind every month

The discord group has been going great! Heaps of activity and good vibes going. The Alliance re-rolls have been welcomed with open arms. We almost have reps from every Horde race, but we could do with a few more undead and tauren thrown into the mix.
From a Horde perspective, this is a community effort. It doesn't matter what guild you're in currently, whether it's inactive or huge, or somewhere in the middle. Everyone is an equal. We're all working towards the same thing!
