Leveling Experience in 10.x is too Easy

Absolutely not. The moment leveling becomes any slower or like wrath I will instantly quit.

Cobalt Assembly is one of the fastest ways to level even post-nerf.

Dude, everyone can see what your logic is… we’ve all seen your posts, no point in lying now little buddy. I’ve yet to insult you and your thread just got ripped apart by everyone, because it’s a bad take by a :troll: … you’re literally the boy who cried wolf and now are crying because no one agrees with you.

Which was also pitifully easy.

Start shedding gear.
You’ll find a place between running around in your underwear and fully geared that has the difficulty you want I suppose.

Well, survivability anyway.

Not sure by what metric you are measuring difficulty.

Are XP gains to high?
Are you killing stuff to fast?
Are you alive too long?

Finally a thoughtful and productive post.

I suppose I need to level more but I was just too bored by level 13. I was naked pulling as many mobs as I could tag and there was zero risk.

When I think about it, it’s difficult to define difficulty in WoW. Perhaps it should be partly mechanics/movement, partly more obscure knowledge like you don’t get dazed when facing a target, partly choosing the appropriate ability for the situation. All of these overlap a bit. And it’s difficult to define like I said.

However running around with zero gear, pulling as many mobs as possible and spamming “1” on your keyboard, with zero risk of dying just seems a bizarre meta to defend.

Go fight Mythic Rashok. That will be a good start.

I’ll start by admitting it’s been a very long time since I leveled anything from 1. Mostly been playing the same priest and DH so when new expansions come around I only have 10 levels or so to do.

I’ll be working on a nelf lock soonish, so I’ll get to see more of the “new” leveling experience though.

Maybe it’s “all the above”.
Some classes like tanks and pet classes, have easier time I assume.

Maybe if xp gains were lowered a bit , and mobs hit a little harder, depending on class, it would be more fun.

Though leveling a tank and spending 10 mins to kill a quest mob doesn’t sound like that much fun the more I think about it…not sure what the solution would be.

Of course but a bit drastic for leveling even by my standards.

I think it’s too easy too. Mobs are way undertuned and casters hardly run out of mana. A respawn or an add should be a death sentence, not an opportunity and casters should have to take breaks every two to three pulls to regenerate their mana. Also, bring back arrows and quivers for hunters. Wait a minute, if you want tougher leveling, go to Classic.

I notice you’re a monk. Did you level with the monk buff on and fully geared?

I don’t mind the “fast” leveling. I just hate Level scaling.

It’d be “faster” if Level Scaling wasn’t there.

IMO, anyway.

I don’t remember with this particular monk. I have 6 monks dating back to MoP. The first one I think I boosted. The 2nd one I think I leveled with heirlooms, the monk buff and dungeon spamming. I don’t really remember the rest. I think the rest were boosts or dungeon spam.

That’s besides my point though. My desire for challenging leveling is something that has only recently developed after years of maturing as a WoW player.

This is just sad.

Slower leveling does not equal better experiences.

Perhaps, but leveling where you actually need to participate and not act as a glorified lawnmower does.

No it doesn’t. That is subjective.
But I think a classic wow experience is not genuine fun. I don’t want that. I do think this game needs updated mechanics and way of how this game functions but that needs an overhaul so they do what they can henceforth why we get a simpler open world and leveling experience. They tried harder areas but it’s gotten a negative reaction.

I could get behind a diablo style difficulty setting, where enemies have more health and damage based on the difficulty level you choose, but that the enemies also award more experience.

…except then the meta for leveling will probably be tanks mass-pulling everything in sight and mowing it all down

Nobody is asking for a classic wow experience, that would be overkill. But the way it is now is terrible. Leveling might as well not even exist.
