That’s actually VERY NORMAL queing for a twink… what you’re mistaking for a “we’re not queing, its broken, im bailing now” is normal and just have a little trust in the system.
Yes, i understand you want that instant que, especially if all 5 people reque… this happens all the time with a twink in the group, the que delays for a bit…
IT’S NOT INSTANT AND ITS NOT CRAZY LONG… EXPECT A 2 TO 3 MINUTE QUE TIME.
Resetting the que is like hitting the elevator button 20 times… it makes you feel pro-active but you’re not making it happen any faster.
If you are a twink or running with a twink having a 2 to 3 minute que, even with a full group is normal… if you grow impatient and bail, it will probably que seconds after you leave.
Anyone with a prot spec can swap to it just like you can swap to dps while queued as tank. If this robs a twink of their main character moment they are so desperate for then it’s worth it imo.
Because it’s Fun. Faster dungeon , faster leveling. Last night I leveled a Druid tank to 80, and it was super fun for few levels with some low level players. They just run trough and kill everything. Fast dungeon, fast levels.
Later we got grouped with 70+ and dungeons where slow
I get that it’s fun for some folks and i’m definitely in the minority but it’s just crazy and degenerate to me. maybe i really do need to switch to classic!
I’m not saying it makes a difference, only that it still makes them turbonerds.
I have a twink of my own, so I’m guilty of it as well, I’m just not ashamed of wanting to play the way I want to play when the mood strikes me.
If you feel like it’s irrelevant content, stop doing the content. That has nothing to do with who else is running the content.
It also could just be they’re spamming fast timewalking dungeons on an overpowered alt hoping for the mount drop. That’s what I did. I spammed TW on a level 10 monk, the mount dropped, I turned exp back on and leveled to 27 to learn the mount.
Then why did you bring it up? You’re saying TW is irrelevant content. Okay, so why are you running TW if it’s irrelevant content? If you think it’s irrelevant, don’t run it, then you won’t see who is or isn’t setting up twinks.
Maybe “turbonerding” is worrying about how people set up their characters for timewalking. It’s all perspective.
Because it’s not a matter of how I feel about the content, it’s a matter of what the content is in the context of the game, and it’s by and large irrelevant to actual end-game progression. I pose that because it’s irrelevant, and therefor a niche in what is already a niche and nerdy form of entertainment, calling it a turbonerd thing or referring to those whom of it partake as turbonerds is apt.
I made 3 lowbie twinks this past week to test them. Fury warrior was the best, holy priest was pretty good, monk was meh (still stronger then everyone else in the group but not impressive or as amusing as warrior).
As far as twinking goes, these are much much easier to set up compared to PvE twinks in the past. Cheap and fast.
They are amusing but I can understand why some people may be annoyed that they are essentially pointless. No other dps is needed. No healing is needed. The twink does 90+% of the damage unless there’s another twink. It’s not quite as bad as MoP remix, but it’s the same basic issue. Some people appreciate a free boost. Some people do not.
In the dozens of runs I did nobody ever complained. Some thought it was funny. Some people cast speed buffs on me to make me go even faster. One person did leave though which I assume was because they didn’t want to be in a run with a twink.
The only solution I can think of is to allow xp-off characters to solo queue and not be placed with anyone besides who they group with when they queue for something. Some people who are not twinks would be sad though as they would no longer luck into a speed run when leveling alts.
Nowhere in your replies to my comment does it say you twink. I’m not going to scroll through all 188 comments and look for it because I don’t care that much. See how that works? I don’t care what character you play in Timewalking dungeons, so I’m not going to inquire about it and complain.
I’ve only really been paying attention to you saying it’s irrelevant content but also continuing to run it and complain about it. You’re putting yourself into a situation you don’t enjoy and going to the forums to complain about it. You’re the worst type of player.
Stop running TW if you think twinking is turbonerding. That way you don’t see any twinks, and you’re also not running irrelevant content. Two birds, one stone.
Not to you specifically, earlier in the thread, and not very far above our own conversation:
I just told you I don’t care if it makes me a turbonerd, I do it because I want to and find it fun.
There’s nothing wrong with turbonerding, and I have no idea why people are so averse to the label lol.
My source? My source is the endless supply of crying threads on the forums that exclusively deal with problems faced when trying to complete this content with pugs.
When you engage in challenging content with people that don’t know you, don’t care about you and aren’t invested in your success, it’s obvious with the outcome is going to be most of the time and this is proven if you just go through the general discussion briefly.
Nah you’re fine. But these events are made for leveling. You need to understand that. Classic would be the same if people wouldn’t had to sit down 20 sec to replenish resources. I was in some time walking dungeons where we wiped few times on some bosses, people wanted to rush , no one interrupted, tank died due the scaling issues. And that’s it.
But don’t look at time walking as difficult content. It’s designed for leveling.
