Lets Talk - Trust Level 3

An example, I know at least 1 person that wishes they had it so that they could post some fan art stuff they have been working on.

They are free to post links with the preformated text features.

Well since these are third-party forums and it seems like blizzard/3rd party techs have no intention to fixing any of the issues. I would say donā€™t hold your breath on any changes. These forums still allow unsub people to post.

Thereā€™s a thread on the level 3 lounge asking just this question. Most of the answers are jokes because most of the folks with level 3 donā€™t give a fig about it.

Again, thatā€™s really not the M.O. of level 3ā€™s. Most level 3ā€™s just spend a lot of time on the forums, reading, commenting, and leaving likes.

You have to do that for every 100 days I believe. The only other thing would be not coming on here for 50/100 days or a forum vacation or having your post reported by 5 people I believe.

I agree with you. Iā€™m just saying its painful when someone is acting as if they are applying for a mod position, level 3 or not lol

Yep, I got hit with a ban once for saying in a similar meaning that, ā€œyou donā€™t have to hit your hand with a hammer to know it hurtsā€. Of course I was making a very logical and successful line well thought out logical post refuting that removal of flying was about immersion.

And in one fell swoop all my post were gone and deleted because I got a 3 day ban, which means all the post you ever made gets deleted instead of a forum suspension. Suspension you get to keep your post.

Pretty sure I got my TL3 back after being inactive in the forums for a bit. But yeah, 20k posts read is excessive. I feel like once you have it, you should have it unless you do something despicable like trolling.

Thatā€™s too many requirements to fulfill.

I just want to be able to post whenever I ā€œmustā€ and read all your sometimes hilarious/informational/groan-worthy posts.

Sounds like you are starting to agree with me regarding the lack of transparency. lol. If youā€™ve been keeping up your read count, then you will probably never know what you ran afoul of if Blizz doesnā€™t tell you. You canā€™t look this stuff up, and now itā€™s gonna eat on your brain forever and ever. Itā€™s like a seed has been planted, and itā€™ll grow.

Itā€™s easy to say it doesnā€™t matter when you HAVE TL3, but lose it? Wellā€¦ viewpoints change a bit.

Yes in this culture of disrespect and people being proud of pretty much the worse itā€™s really hard that people act civil. There is nothing wrong about being civil on the internet and people donā€™t understand why they arenā€™t respected when they arenā€™t ready to show some respect.

My last suspension they didnā€™t even send me an email. Had to put in a ticket for them to tell me just a general ā€œtrollingā€ response. No clue what post or what I said, that was all I got. :man_shrugging:

I was just comparing your forum stats to mine, and you have higher numbers in almost every category. My guess is either youā€™re just short a few reads (since itā€™s a rolling total) or some obnoxious folks reported you for being too cute or something.

A person perhaps posted a question asking why a Community manager profile and posts were hidden on this forum. The thread maybe or maybe not got deleted and the person perhaps or perhaps not received a ban with no reason given.

Somthing like that would never happen

Well I am glad other gaming forums donā€™t follow it. I suppose whoever is in control does this type of stuff. Blizzard recently been oppressing a lot of their concepts depending what it is. Trust level is one of them.

the requirements to maintain the trust level 3 are the worst imo

i passed a few weeks busy and when i came back i lost it, canā€™t update my ogre megathread, and it seems an eternity to get it back

Syegfryed. Here is what you can do. Its not perfect solution, but it helps.

  1. Get OBS broadcaster(totally free)

  2. Use it to take 1 second video of an image.

  3. Upload it to youtube or twitch as unlisted.

  4. Save it to a online library of videos for easy access.

This way you can at least post images that can be visible immediately to people seeing them.

I lost my TL3 because I didnā€™t read enough forum posts over the last 3 months. Still pretty bummed out about it, but I donā€™t really have that kind of time or patience.

I donā€™t understand why I have to be on the forums so frequently to be considered ā€œtrustedā€ when I have a spotless history otherwise.

I think the problem is that Blizzard has unlocked and extended those threads repeatedly, indicating that they donā€™t think itā€™s spam.

Honestly, the forum system is developed by another company. Thatā€™s pretty common place, of course, with most companies just using software not actually developing it in house.

It sounds, to me, like the software either isnā€™t implemented in a way that allowed them to prevent a thread from being reported, or the software isnā€™t actually designed to allow it. So that even if Blizzard unlocks it, the system auto locks it again. Iā€™d bet that they can either have auto lock on, and have to manually unlock every thread thatā€™s not a problem (but mostly leave them alone), or have it off and have to handle thousands of reports daily manually.

Ultimately, the problem is that any minority opinion can be considered spam if the only definition is that at least 5 people have to disagree with it. In fact, at that point, almost anything could be considered spam at that point. The system just isnā€™t elegant enough to handle dislike vs spam.

Just like how the dislike button was ā€œsupposed to combat trollingā€ and was then used to hide well intentioned posts. It sounds good on paper, but a self-governing community without a leadership system to look towards is going to tend towards anarchy, which Iā€™d argue is where we are with reporting and the like.

Itā€™s one thing to have an opinion about something, that doesnā€™t mean you should share it :stuck_out_tongue: As for the flagging system for sure itā€™s not perfect, but it leads to a user moderated forum. Now there are problems to that, but itā€™s still clearly better for me than old forums that were even more prone to trolling/spam.

I think what we got is not too bad of a deal. The high elf subject is tricky, but they still had that subject adressed in a Q&A and I think itā€™s time they move on to the rp section.
