You don’t need it - I have had to earn it on three accounts already and it isn’t hard to do. They just want the more active people to be able to maybe provide helpful links to things, I am pretty sure the intent wasn’t to let them post junk like some of them do.

I got hit with a forum ban for trolling and it was 100% political expediency. I had a real complaint on a threads I created that I was upset over and I still believe 100% that Blizzard has become a nanny state, and I got hit will trolling for not giving reason how to prevent this issue, when the obvious solution to the problem was exceptio probat regulam in casibus non exceptis, meaning “the exception proves the rule to be true in cases not excepted.” In other words, stop trying to control how I play.
You can get a forum ban now for having an opinion that’s critical of the game. I wish they would see how their heavy had is driving people away.

It’s a fine line between trolling and “giving an opinion” sometimes. They have to make that call.
I personally think TL3 should go away though.

I got a forum ban on the old forums for responding to the same person in two threads where I pointed out that what they said between the two threads was contradictory. The reason given was “stalking and calling out”.

It is such a silly system. They really love making people constantly earn things over and over again. Once you get Trust 3 it should be permanent without having to keep doing the requirements over and over again. If you get banned/suspended I can see losing it. I didn’t even realize it could be lost initially until someone posted they had lost theirs a while back. I haven’t lost mine yet but that’s probably because I spend way too much time on the forums. 
P.S. The limits on likes is also stupid.

Ya, but further down the thread I had created someone corrected me on point that I did not know, it was on how the forums work. I was wrong on that and I apologized and admitted I was wrong about that part of my post. People who are trolling don’t admit they are wrong and apologize before getting whacked with the hammer.

Went to the Forums list and the TL3 lounge is gone. I’m back to level 2. Oh well…like I said, I don’t even use or know what all I could do at TL3.

You probably didn’t meet the 20k read requirement which is ongoing.
Probably didn’t read enough posts. You have to read something like 20k in whatever time period, and it has to stay current. So if you had your 20k and didn’t read for a while, you drop in level. It’s happened to me once or twice.

I dunno why people actually want level 3. The ability to post pictures and links seems so…trivial?
Its also painful to watch people act like hall monitors.
