Let's talk pvp for real

Only a tiny percentage of players will faction change.

Wouldn’t bother me at all. A realm is a world with its own unique issues. If the queues were hours long I would do less bg and farm/fish more. If alliance were around I would farm them.

This would drive servers to even bigger faction imbalance. BGs calmed down pvp fp camping and made going to dungeons reasonable. If they became 3 he ques things would go back to the pvp meta except the minority faction wouldn’t fight back at all because they’re all in BGs

its not a suggestion that should be taken too seriously imo, Its like telling them to reroll which they wont because of the amount of time to level up and get abit of gear to that you arent one shot is significant and yeah i was told to reroll alot in p2 by horde i wont tell them to do that same because its unreasonable it would also be petty.

Boosted or buyable 60s would help alleviate the imbalance too. Anyone want to go there? I don’t.

Just deal with it.

I think Horde to Alliance only faction transfers would help and make a noticeable dent but things will never be 100% balanced. You have different groups of people that would switch for different reasons but it’s human nature to think the other side has it easier and believe:

-Alliance are OP. Paladins, blessings.
-Salvation on future threat intensive raid fights.
-AV is easy for Alliance
-Instant Qs for BG’s (way more important later on after honor grind is done)
-Some might want to just try something new after being Horde in Vanilla & Classic.

I could keep naming reasons as to why people might switch, there are a lot more than that but you get the picture. Btw, I don’t think Alliance are OP, they have their benefits as do Horde. Point is many people believe the grass is greener on the other side and that alone could be enough to switch.

This was the nonsense that led to the removal of Alliance’s identity all for the sake of one ability that didn’t matter anymore due to the tuning of threat tables.

It’s easy for anyone able to and capable of fighting.

I’m told by various horde that it’s actually bad for Alliance since players have to grind that much more to be in the upper percentages. But im also told Horde queues are even better and a blessing.

The problem with it is faction imbalance bleeds over to all aspects of the game. On that EU server where all the alliance left how are AQ gates gunna be opened? Also world pvp inevitably kills itself. I’ve brought this up in other threads but I truly believe most players don’t actually enjoy world pvp, just the implication. If everyone loved it it would happen, and we’d have balanced servers. What would happen is the same thing that happened on retail pvp servers, they eventually just become pve servers for one faction. Then nobody gets to pvp at all, BG’s or open world.

me personally i think horde queues may be better if its 20 mins and they win alot, it gives you a chance to chillax abit after every AV, Ive also heard that they have to grind less honour but that doesnt mean they play less its just more time in queue to keep up with all the other horde, the honour numbers a lower because of longer queues.

That’s why I said instant BG Q’s will be more important in later phases once people reach their desired rank, you know, when people PvP just for fun?

But I didn’t post that because I think Alliance are head and shoulders better than the Horde, the point is many people believe they are and would switch based on their beliefs.

Make their own premades he says. You can’t.
We would queue as 40 and hit join queue at the same time. 3 of us would get in the same AV. 5 if we are lucky. Even on non peak times.

It’s the same time investment, they just camp FP’s or BRM while in queue. Top horde rankers still play 16+ hours a day, just less BG’s

The reason I say that is it’s a perception thing.

Queue for 30 min: PRO: No relentless grind/CON: Can’t do the bg often or when they want

Yeah i guess being able to instantly satisfy a pvp itch is pretty good for us

For those who are just grinding rank, it’s not terrible on the Horde side because we compete with each other. But once everyone reaches their desired rank or are in phase 3 to 6 gear, it will really suck having to wait so long to PvP. At that point those who primarily want to PvP for fun might end up quitting.

dont know what to tell you if you expected short wait times in a 15 year old game

queues were long in the real vanilla, long on private servers and were always gong to be long in classic

We should be giving them the same constructive criticism and give them the same amount of empathy.

Yeah… Alliance have have instant queues the entire time. Clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I think many underestimate how impulsive people can be when making decisions. For example. You’ll have a very large group of Horde players who get frustrated in WSG, AB, and AV because Alliance usually have way more healers.

Or when the Horde finally have some healers in a BG. Then you get into a nice little battle, and the Horde healer dies quick with the rest to follow while the Paladin bubbles and heals with no interruption.

Instead of the Horde realizing what they did wrong to keep their healer alive, they rage, blame things being unbalanced, and when people are frustrated, they make impulsive decisions and could transfer.

Plus it’s just human nature to be impatient. When people want to PvP for fun in later phases after the honor grind, they’ll be more likely to switch to Alliance for instant Qs if that option is available.

The solution is simple, introduce mixed faction pvp. It doesn’t exactly make sense for a lore perspective, but hey there you go.

But #nochanges amirite?
