Hi everyone. I think it’s important to keep the discussion rolling so I’m making this thread to talk about how hidden addon abuse is allowing mass griefing of players.
I won’t link my presentation here but you can find more information on the reddit post: ATTN all battleground players
byu/Feeling-Barnacle9217 inwow
We’re at 237,000 views and 501 shares which is great. I hope with people spreading this and using the emails provided in the presentation it comes to the dev’s attention.
For any concerns about the presentation link it’s just a generic google slides document.
Please be civil but do express your frustration with this misuse of addons.
I wanted to thank everyone for reading and participating in the original thread. I knew my community would come after me so I used it as a distraction while the reddit post gained traction. I also want to apologize for anyone that gets caught up in the inevitable witch hunt. Some truths are hard to hear, it’s easier to lash out at others rather than own our mistakes.

Thank you for trying to shed some light on the issue. I really hope blizzard does something about this. People who get repeatedly curb stomped for the crime of wanting to dip their toes in PvP will simply give up and the community can only suffer for it.

Epics are a great place for new players to learn the basics of PvP.
If they queue at prime time, they are pretty much guaranteed to be playing a match that is negatively impacted by this addon without even knowing it.
You have to assume that this is hurting participation in all pvp content by dissuading new players at the source.

i hope they do as well, but without throwing the baby out with the bathwater, epics have a great scene with lots of drama and rivalries between communities, clearly there is a demand for premade teams who want to play each other, its just frustrating that a few of those teams are ruining the game for everyone else.

Every one of those teams is ruining the game for everyone else - it’s the reason Blizzard implemented the 5 man group cap over a decade ago.

Yeah, but they circumvent that matchmaking limitation.

the whole scene feels like the way wow is supposed to be, how it was back in the day where your guild would be rivals with other guilds on your server. communities replaced guilds and epics replaced wpvp raids, but otherwise that feeling of actually being part of a world didn’t go away in epics like it did in many other parts of the game.

Ruining what? they can ban these addons tomorrow, nothing will change, you will still see DJL/Avm dodge you lol

So those communities will continue to grief the overall bg playerbase? good to know

Treat others the way you want to be treated. flaming them isn’t the way to go about doing it. BSG isn’t the overall player base in epics lol…

Why are you up on a high horse like you don’t dodge… Stop pretending you are the good guy in all this.

strange, most posts i see on these forums about the holes being caused are horde players getting griefed by the horde communities. bsg makes those games end quickly as we don’t like to farm pugs, or as some like to call it “playing objectives”

Should’ve seen the giant arguement we had in disc with him lol

Just a suggestion, maybe consider put this up in the General Discussion as well to get more visibility, which is what this issue needs.

Bumping for visibility. Please do something about this Blizzard. Banning the addons community flare and community flare details would be a great start. Ruining gameplay of the declining pvp casual community on purpose should warrant action. Some people like myself just enjoy random bgs but I’ve slowly lost interest because of premades.
