Let's not forget right-click report

I will simply not play the game to avoid the toxicity of other players!

edit - I will also not be leaving my house to avoid other humans for fear of their toxicity.

Question: Can you right click report the opposite faction in the system currently on live? If so, could that lead to a squelch?

I read an example of abuse of the system in a battleground but couldn’t figure out why you’d want to squelch your own teammate unless it was called for.

I am assuming the only thing you can report the opposing faction for would be “Cheating”, considering you cant understand what they are saying.

Have you never been on the internet? Ever played League? I can think of a few reasons.

Why WOULD anyone want to act like a jerk over the internet? Bless him.

For real though- I can’t confirm cross-faction reporting because the last time I logged onto Retail was a month after release. I keep my sub on to communicate with this community, but I do hope someone can answer your question on this thread.

Every BG I’ve ever been in, I’ve been too busy trying NOT to get killed to actually try reporting the opposing team. It never even occurred to me to try.

I’m pretty sure you can’t, anyway. That’d be a stupid feature; Blizzard wouldn’t be THAT dumb.

looks at WoD no-fly bait and switch

…Never mind, maybe they would.

If you aren’t being a jerk then you have nothing to worry about, it’s literally that simple.

The only people that are adamantly against this are just angry that they wont be able to grief other players as easily as before. Get over it. #YesChanges

Nice counter argument. Claim I’m trolling all you want. I’m not.

This feature is an improvement for the community, plain and simple. The only people that are against this are the ones who want to negatively impact the community.

The right-click report system is great. The squelch included.

No need to adjust the client any further by removing it.

I’d like to hear your elaboration. My stance is I don’t want automated bots determining what is right and wrong based off report volume- not fact. How could anyone abuse a system where real people have to look at reports and issue punishments based off evidence?

Not disagreeing with your sentiment about it being better for the game, but I completely disagree with you lumping all people who are against its implementation into one basket. There are a large multitude of reasons someone could be against this system.

Thats like saying all people who are for recreational THC are THC users.

That’s why I added “unless it was called for.”

I generally agree automated bots that silence or ban people can be and will be abused. However, the actual prevalence is way overblown, and in cases of no wrong doing the squelch will be rectified.

Beyond potential abuse of the system, what argument against it is there?

That is the conclusion, the system will be abused, but its abuse will be limited to a small amount of people who will hopefully be PUNISHED for abusing the system in the first place. If everything goes smoothly the systems implementation will go unnoticed.

I restate- if I pay $15 a month, and I’m squelched or banned for 1 minute, I’m robbed of my gameplay and time. Time spent squelched or banned is not reimbursed, and therefore I am against any system that requires human intervention to determine innocence after punishment.

So you’d rather be inundated with trolls and the like, because that’s the only alternative to this. Blizzard is not going to, nor can they, hire more GM staff specifically to monitor WoW Classic. Their GM staff monitors ALL their games.

How often do you say something in trade chat or world chat, that isn’t complete troll bait, and get auto squelched? Literally never… the only people getting Auto Squelched will be those who sit in world/trade chat spewing nonsense over long periods of time to make people laugh.

The chances of you getting auto squelched by a large group of people for no reason at all are very small unless you broadcast yourself to the entire server constantly.

The ban element from it needs to be removed at the very least. The squelch is something I think we can live with. If it is used against a player from a high end guild they are going to have VOIP programs in use anyway and not use the in game chat too much. Of course it can hinder their game play, but it is still doable.

People bullying some solo player with it isn’t nice either, but I think that’s not that bad either. Just wait some days for the bullies to get a temp ban of 2 days from a GM.

The ban element is just too much power, if speed running raids will be a thing in Classic. Top end guilds are going to be using every tool in their arsenal, which is expected in a highly competitive environment.

Add to this that we are going to be paying customers and as Classic players we aren’t expecting lots of patches or anything new to the game, so some of the money from Classic could be maybe used to hire a few GM’s?

THE ONLY PEOPLE getting auto squelched will be World Chat trolls and people who are notorious across multiple servers… people like Itsyaboymatt
