No right click report, no DKs, no GM intervention on pvp server griefing.

I’m fine with right-click report. I’m not fine with the auto-squelch associated with it. Remove auto-squelch, and I’m 100% on board with the feature.

The ~decade of bad habits the private server folks picked up while playing on those servers will need some sort of solution. I can only imagine how they interacted in public channels, the violation of CoC in character/guild naming etc…

Right click report is a solid solution, imo.

This is the best solution.

Right click report isn’t inherently the problem. All it does it stop people from cluttering up the ticket system.

The real problem is that you can have in-game consequences because other players have reported you, before a GM has verified you did anything wrong.

Yes right click reports that way you can get chain reported by 8 people who all agree to report you and get you banned, let’s leave the responsibility of policing the player base up to the players LMAO

Oh and I’m sure blizzard will have an actual human there to determine wether or not all 10 reports against you were legitimate right? There’s no way they would auto ban you and leave it up to you to appeal your own unwarranted ban?

A way to report players is okay. Providing players with the ability to squelch and possibly ban players or cause them to d/c is not okay. The right-click report feature makes that easy, and I wouldn’t want to be the person on the receiving end- much like anyone else?

PS players who don’t follow CoC and ToS should be dealt with by regular reports of legitimate cased of breaking the rules. A mop of right-click reporting for a bad name so you can force a logout/change on someone who has a name you want so you can in-turn capture that name is not okay.

Blizzard isn’t in the business of having innocent customers being unfairly punished in high volume. If the right-click report system is abused, the abusers will be punished or the system will be modified or outright removed.

The right-click report system and auto-squelch have been in the game since 2007 and there’s very few, if any verifiable instances of it being abused.

The system has been proven to be problematic and abused on more than one occasion. Just 1 case of a mob of players unjustly spam reporting is too much.

I love that you brought this up. You’re 110% correct- the purpose of a report system is to provide feedback on infringements of CoC/ToS. Automated systems that simply measure volume of reports over time cannot do that, and therefore the right-click report feature’s functionality is a detriment to the well being of the average player. There’s an element unnecessary risk of abuse that can easily be avoided.

Lmao I know people that have been chat banned for saying positive things about Donald trump because they were reported so many times… the same thing happens on these forums… literally two nights ago there was a thread about being HAPPY about AV 1.12 and it got flagged by the community because it was reported to the ground.

You do know that reporting systems have always existed and players don’t get automatically banned, right?

Edit: Oh, you said chat banned.

To be fair pre-automated system I once got somebody temp banned from WoW entirely because they said something about sleeping with a sibling.

I didn’t even care about the comment, I just didn’t like the person.

Though it should still be up to a GM like that decision was, not to other players(even if other players is just a squelch and not a full ban).

I must respectfully point you to google. There are loads of examples of name change abuses, chat squelches, and unjust bans.

Then appeal it. Bans are handed out by GM’s, not players.

Correct. And this project is meant to be as low maintenance as possible.

So if the right click report feature becomes abused and appeals become too many, the system will be changed/removed. For sure.

But its not a bad idea.

The right-click report system and auto-squelch have been in the game since 2007 and there’s very few, if any verifiable instances of it being abused.

^ more truth!
