Let's not forget right-click report

I’m pretty sure they do, actually.

Exactly.

The only people really in a position to abuse it anyway would be streamers, just for the sake of proving that they can. Give them and everyone involved a short ban, and it’ll only happen once or twice.

Last time I saw players banned for abusing the reporting system, they got 3 days, and was told that it would increase like the silence punishment for each violation.

It’s what happened to Asmondgold(or whatever his name is). The whole “I love wow” stunt, after Blizzard dropped the squelch, they suspended him a few days for abusing the reporting system. Blizzard does watch player streams too.

While I imagine they arent as strict om some names if you pay attention their are some pretty horrific and offensive names running around modern wow. The biggest difference is 99% of thise names are already taken.

That sounds speculative to me.

They tried but it happened more often than people think and when they did get involved they took their censorship to far in some cases and were reactive without justification on a number of occasions.

Nope, most of these “complaining” post are either from modern wow folks who cannot leave certain features behind or people who actually played classic or have read through the patch notes for classic.

Not only does blizzard watch them but they value their input and allow them to influence game design far more than they should.

no sorry we need to be able to report people that are not following the rules

IMO thats fine, then we should get the TBC/Wrath reporting system and not the new system

As long as we get some way to squelch, silence, report etc… the wave of people coming from private servers, it’ll all be good.

I’m sure any abuse of right click report will be quickly handled by the two part time interns assigned to monitor classic.

Considering what you just said, and we’ve actually gotten some damn good news proving Blizzard’s listening and trying to keep Classic, Classic… I think you need to pull your head out of your butt.

Those same streamers you’re bashing are partly to thank for why Classic’s development is going as well as it is. These forums are too full of unreasonables to be relied on for feedback.

Speaking of pulling heads out point out exactly where in this thread that I bashed a streamer or streamers.
Do I believe the have a tendency for hyperbole and drama? Yes they cater to an audience and will do what ever they need to do to keep the paychecks coming in.

Should blizzard utilize them as a source for information in regards to classic? No because of the whole hyperbole and drama thing.

In fact I don’t think I have ever really said anything derogatory about any streamer in any thread other than what I have said in this thread.

Depends what you personally find derogatory. I disagree with you; I find they’ve actually been far more reasonable with what to expect from Classic than most of the people on this forum.

That said, they’re falling into the same trap as you guys – thinking Classic’s a full game and potential replacement for Retail, and not just a museum piece.

The GM team handles all of Blizzard’s games.

Yeah, I would have told her that myself but I doubted she’d listen.

The fact that toxic players can squelch others and potentially disconnect others from the game is a problem. This is been proven and recorded on multiple occasions. The take-action-first ask-questions-later approach is not a good thing. Convenient UI isn’t the problem- abuse is the problem.

I love the healthy discussion- please keep this topic relevant and fresh.

I love every one of you. <3

The scary boogeyman of a brigade of toxic players is so yawn.

What else you got?

Most all are debunked as manufactured outrage.
