Thing is, why not let us hide pants too? I mean, you’re never actually naked, you still have the basic ‘underwear’ so if your’e going to let us hide everything else, why not hide those too?
One thing I love about WF…
Because this isn’t some Japanese game where everyone is half naked all the time.
No just 1/3rd of the time. It’s still optional. Sometimes I’m skimpy, sometimes I’m not. Depends on my mood and the character. But we already have a toy to be in our underwear 1/3rd of the time in combat and we can unequip all our gear any time in combat.
Was this response made before they were already going to do that or is this…an actual communication response?! If this was an actual response to a thread that got the options done that fast, I…I don’t know what to say.
No there isn’t that’s completely a lie. If a swimsuit is acceptable then no reason a bra and panties shouldn’t be… seriously what’s wrong with you? Where do you come up with these crazy notions? X rated game?
Your opinion and my opinion are different and I have spoken to enough other players that I know I am not the only one who feels this way.

Oh don’t worry. You’re going to see enough naked people all the time as it is. Just take a good look at the worgen you just replied to and tell me honestly if there’s any difference between her leggings and the default underwear.

Maybe 1 in 100 people I talk to in WoW has similar views to you. (When the subject is brought up). I will say the majority of those who do are older women. cough stuck in second wave feminism cough
Besides while some of your statements are opinions other are just unfactual. Like “X rated”. No underwear is not X rated. That is factually incorrect. I don’t know anywhere in the world that considered people or character in underwear X-Rated. PG13/Teen which is already what WoW is reated.
On the other hand, people seems to be rather okay with violence and alcohol abuse in this game.
It’s all part of a plan: Kill a few people in your art and no one bats an eye, but show some skin in certain places and everyone loses their frickin’ minds
Yeah never got people’s hatred of anything remotely sexual. But hey let’s subject children to obscene violence… idk about you but I’d rather subject my children too sexual content (Such as you know… naked bodies… perfectly natural) then too those horror movies with insane amounts of blood and hack and slash. A naked body in natural and aint gonna traumatise kids as much as bloodied mutilated corpses. I know the movies that messed me up as a youngster were the super violent ones. Curse it’s not actually about the well being of the children. It’s keeping them “pure”. Sex is the most impure thing in the multiverse. While violence is totally fine to their pure untouched souls.
That all being said… no one is even asking for genitals in WoW. (Except one dude who I think was being sarcastic… I hope). We just want more option to customise and yeah some might derp in their underwear big flippen deal. You can already do this in towns/cities and in combat you probably aren’t staring at the gear folks are in.
Course it seems to be motivated by religion… which as history says tends to be anti sex and pro violence. (Looking at you inquisition, crusades, etc). I wasn’t raised in a religious household. So naturally sexual things are neutral and violent things are cringe.
Course it seems to be motivated by religion…
You don’t wanna go there, believe me.
Truth hurts… Probably gonna get a forum ban for it… /sigh…

I am pretty sure I said moving “toward” x-rated, and thus sliding downhill into the mud from a non-teen game. And I have to say that my experience on agreement on this is more the reverse. But then I still recall the Game Stop guy asking me if I was buying the third expansion for one of my kids for Christmas. There are so many people either disabled or retired who play and they don’t hang the banner over their toons’ heads while doing so. There are a myriad of guilds for older players to play together and Facebook has groups with older players. Teens tend to think the game is for teens and tend to respond like teens… short-sighted.
But let’s address your fairly blatant veil at my second wave of feminism since I am assuming that you think the first wave was the Susan B. Anthony era getting us the vote… which many still thinks was inappropriate.
Since you were too young to be there or are too male to like it, I would say that you have no idea why it is important not to slide back into it. Back in the day where a woman ended up in the hospital after her husband got mad and he wasn’t arrested. Or a stalker could stalk and there was no law to protect the victim. Or an ex could disappear with the kids and there was no law to protect the other parent. And I know more than half of the population supports a woman’s right to choose to this day, and yet until mid-1800s, that wasn’t even a question to begin with. Or, as was true for me in my first job, a woman made one third of what a man did doing the exact same job for a Fortune 500 company, to include me on-the-job training of my male counterparts and if I even discussed the discrepancy, I was both fired and blackballed for future jobs.
You have no idea of the social changes that have been made during my lifetime and how they have benefitted the public in so many ways. You live in an era where you assume these things were normal and then naively cough disrespectfully at the changes that have been made and ridicule a someone who went through the abuseful backlash while fighting this and is asking to not slide backward. You simply think this is about allowing players to run around in underwear. Players who play other genders because they want to fantasize that they are that sex, or can puppet control that sex, or just want to see the naked behind of a woman while they play.
I am doing what I have done all my life and stopping to point out something that will have consequences. Ones that are already there and one where younger people mock the seriousness of each choice to avoid returning to such an unequal time in history. Let’s just go full fledged fantasy and pull all the stops. Let’s let our people continue to avoid any sense of reality between their games and their real life thoughts. I can recall when an adult would walk into a room where kids were acting out unhealthy things and they would stop them. Run to the grocery store in your underwear because you couldn’t find a matching outfit. I have no idea what that might do for you today. You might encounter a cop who plays Wow and high-fives you. I have bought this game for all 5 of my grandkids after it was recommended to me by my son when I became disabled. But frankly, I sometimes wonder what the owners of the company are thinking. They aren’t really the ones who started it.

tl:dr, my subscription expires the 4th, be patient and I’ll be out of everyone’s hair.
The reason I’m hanging around here is that my subscription ends April 4th, so I’m going to get my money’s worth while I still have an account. This is why you’re seeing me more in the forums than before. But feel free to call me out if I post after the 4th.
I did say that you had your right to believe what you do. I’m not saying otherwise. In fact, good on you for sticking to your guns on this. Sometimes you have to take a stand, which is why you won’t be seeing me around after the 4th.
I have played this game since 2009. I know what the barrens looked like before Deathwing got to them, and I mourn over the loss of 1000 needles. Loved that place. And I too have played through the lean periods…MoP content drought, WoD (although I cheated and picked up FF14 when I got bored…but I kept a subscription open here so I don’t think that counts). That’s why leaving here is borderline painful, but the game has moved in a certain direction that leaves me behind. Again, which is why I’m on the forums…that last ditch hold on the game.
Personally, in my opinion anyway, there are worse things to be outraged about in this game, and no that doesn’t only include the things I’m throwing a fit about.
I hope you get what you need from the game, and I hope it goes a direction that is more in line with your tastes. But they’re all heading this direction. FF14 for instance, but they offer an equal amount of skimp for both females and males. So, I guess that’s equality in a sense.
Good luck, have fun, and again, feel free to call me out if you see me on here after the 4th.
There’s a toy that does that now.
A naked body in natural and aint gonna traumatise kids as much as bloodied mutilated corpses.
And by the way, this isn’t a religious opinion or one that is taking up issued with the violence which is not explicit, though my grandkids don’t like it.
This is because some portions of the population don’t have limits on their actions relating to naked violence and other parts of the population… extremely high percentages… are [victims of sexual violence] and traumatized for life from the experience. Those of us who have experienced it don’t want it to happen to those of you who haven’t. And predators like the hidden gaming environment. I disagree. I am not a religious prude. I am a realist, in a game that promotes fantasy. I just want to maintain some sort of boundary. Life and games are full of boundaries and rules. Games are built on rules. I am simply asking that this one not be changed.

Hide weapons for worgen would be cool
Here’s a leftist progressive mindset in a nutshell on display for all to see. There must be boundaries in all walks of life, and can be different depending upon which society you’re in. Europeans tend to gravitate of sexual content verses violent content, while Americans are the opposite.
Just look at what movies are popular in each society, and I think that when sexual content is less overt, then it's more effective because of the concept of less is more. There are a few older movies that had love scenes, and when they were remade, the newer version showed the entire action of the love scene, and it wasn't as good as the origional simply because it left out the viewer's imagination.

Mine doesn’t run out until the 17th and I have several larger guilds to transition to others and some housekeeping to do before I leave. I have all 50 toons and although only 8 are over 120 at this point, I have a total of 25 over 111. I started in '07 and have spent my entertainment funds on wow since then, since disability isn’t a monthly world cruise.
I am discussing this issue because I never complained that one of my male officers ran plate bikinis on all of his female melee for the last 7 years because he wanted to enjoy what he was looking at while he played the game. He spent a ton of time farming the pieces in old raids to create just the perfect outfit. I even stole one of his choices and modified it to a bit more modesty for my plate DKs. Him running bikinis wasn’t my preference, but I didn’t express disapproval of his choice. However when he told me this change was coming and that he had talked wow into it, I spoke out about my feeling on going to underwear, and he got pretty irrational and took it as an attack on himself. I had ended the conversation saying I didn’t want to talk about it anymore. I could see there was going to be no reasonable discussion between my feelings as a women about sliding a step further on choices on wardrobe, particularly in light of the desire for men to have puppets as naked as they could make them. After 7 years of friendship, he rage quit my guild. Our conversation was relatively short. Once I saw his inability to see or respect my thought on it, I dropped the conversation. He stewed over it all night. If it isn’t that big of a deal in game fantasy, then why was it such a big deal in his real life relationship and ability to discuss and understand divergent perspectives?
Obviously, to him, our 7 year friendship was the fantasy (friendship, not romantic) and his coming and going from the game was more of his reality. Because I brought up the perverts in game, he assumed I directed it at him. Why?
That said, this is as much about fantasy friendships as it is about fantasy underwear. I have been here too long.
