Let people chose, give us two versions of HC

They could make it like the SoM deathless buff, while under effects of the buff you would be bound by the SSF ruleset. Creating another server solely for SSF could be destructive in long-term.

There’s a chance it would be highly successful, I think that chance is higher than it being “destructive”? Destructive for who?

Very few people think it will be more successful. All numbers even ones you provided show that SSF is the lesser desired option.

The link on this forum showed that there was 39 vs 29 likes on differing options.
I would argue that’s a strong motivation to try out both versions! :slightly_smiling_face: Edit/update:
also, very few? assumption again.

<80 people is enough for you to want to split a community.

All I need to know. Thanks.

can you elaborate on this?

It’s a pretty straightforward statement.

Less than 80 people is your basis for splitting a community.

The key point here that you seem to refuse to grasp is:

SSF are perfectly capable of playing on a server without those restrictions being universally enforced, because the ruleset doesn’t allow them to interact with other players anyway.

Players that just want death = permanent being the only rule can NOT play on a SSF enforced server.

The entire premise of your argument is just being OCD about everyone on the server being SSF even though there is no logical reason why such a server would need to exist when the playstyle of SSF doesn’t depend on a whole server playing by the same rules.

Its all just a big entitled “gimmie gimmie”

Less than 80 people?
No, you completely misunderstand. There’s way more people than that engaged in permadeath, what do you mean?
Are we living in the same world?
What I’m saying is this “voter turnout”, or called it whatever you want is indicative of a 60/45 split in SSF vs “unlimited”. You see?

Edit/update:

Nono. I grasp this.
I want two separate servers so we can see in full potential how each server with it’s specific ruleset will turn out!

What I’m saying is voter turn out was less than 80 people which is what you are basing your decision off of.

So yes. Less than 80 people.

“I want it, gimmie gimmie blizzard, spend your money for my personal experiment”

Oh I see what you’re saying! I understand.
Well, no this is one example.
The biggest thing that affect’s my stance on two separate servers is the endless discussions all around discord and twitch. And various polls which almost always turn out about 50/50 or 60/40.

Me too!
Here’s to two separate servers!

I started this thread really as a way to settle all the “toxic” polarizing between the two camps. I don’t really have a clear favorite version.
I also think would be a wise thing for them to do economically, as I think there’s a high chance the SSF server will be more stable longterm.

On the other hand, you seem oddly opposed to it, based on what?

Various polls except for ones that don’t end that way and you discount it.

Being gimme gimme entitled is screeching for EZcore. Y’all already have servers with the rules you want. All they need to do is put the Soul of Iron buff guy back in and when you lose the buff you delete. They could even make you stay ghosted if you took the buff.

How would it be wise for blizzard to create an extra server to accommodate a playmode that is already 100% playable on ANY already existing server?

Except the death = permanent.

Don’t bother with the self enforced Bs cause that same logic can be applied to SSF.

I pointed out that the Reddit poll you linked to was missing to important choices:

  1. permadeath, no more rules.
  2. 2 separate servers.
This makes people that want either of those choices pidgeonholed into something that they maybe not want honestly.
And about 50% of that poll answered “whatever rules”, which could mean anything. and about 15% answered definitive SSF.
And this is one poll, on reddit.
Other polls I’ve seen have been almost 50/50.

And I pointed out it had the option for SSF. It doesn’t need a 2 server option.

The fact that 400 more people voted for whatever rules may be shows that SSF isn’t as favored as you believe it to be.

Did you play soul of iron on seasonal?
If you lose your buff you can delete. The upside of putting you on a regular server is, you have choice to continue after your fail. There are a people in your camp who want to allow you to transfer off the HC server after death, this solves that issue.
Lose the buff?

Because it could turnout to be a very stable server in the longterm. It has the potential.

It absolutely does. I would imagine some people would vote for “whatever” when they really would vote for “2 server” for example.

This is one poll, on Reddit. All the other “polls” or viewer votings on twitch and arguments on discord indicates 50/50.
Also I don’t believe it to be favores. It’s besides the point. I believe it to be favored by at least 30-40% of those that enjoy permadeath at the moment. And it could may well be that this playstyle and server could be more stable in the longterm
