It splinters an already small community.
Didn’t the RPers ask for one server prior to classic launch so as to not splinter an already small community?
Making more than one HC server is probably a death knell to both servers.

The point is the best compromise is simply to make SSF a toggle on official hardcore servers, because playing SSF isn’t negatively impacted by what other players are doing.
Blizzard didn’t even make a standalone tbc server even though its well known there is a sizeable amount of players that want them. Its unrealistic to expect blizzard to create a entire server to accommodate a playstyle that can already coexist on the hardcore server they are already planning on making.
You already answered with that and it’s speculation.
No they didn’t. RP-PvP players wanted their own server because one hadn’t been planned. There was an enormous thread on this issue at the time.
I disagree.
It’s really not speculation.
The Hc community isn’t large. You may want to believe otherwise but it’s just not a large community.
Please, show us the numbers.
Confirmation bias strikes again
He seems to know …
Or at least implies that he does. He needs to back up his statement.
The fact that the entire HC community fits on a single server is the only proof thats needed
If you’re honestly trying to deny that the hardcore player base isn’t small relative to other wow playerbases you’re just delusional
<5k subscribers to the subreddit dedicated to it.
Not really any other numbers to go off but based on that alone it’s barely scraping 2 og vanilla servers.
You could argue there are more who aren’t subbed but then have to account for those who are subbed cause they enjoy the content and not actually want to play it.
Cool, that’s about the size of servers back in Vanilla. That should work for two servers.
I could, but why speculate.
Except I’m not. I never made a comparison.
You could also refer to the poll on it which only garnered <1k votes. So yeah wouldn’t go thinking it’s for sure enough to fill 2 servers.
Its blizzards job to speculate on all these things, because their decision will cost them money
Blizzard is going to do what makes the most sense financially, and as it stands SSF is perfectly capable of coexisting on the same server as death= permanent servers, but the same doesn’t apply the other way around.
You’re getting 1 server
That’s in no way shape or form represantive of permadeath interest.
Only you in this thread had seen it beforehand.
Never stated otherwise. If it’s their job, why are you guys speculating?
Sure, it could exist there, but the experience won’t be any different than what we have now.
Can’t wait until the forums are full of “we don’t want them here” “they don’t trade or group, they don’t belong” threads to start up. And they will.
Enjoy your EZcore lads.
Here’s to me voicing that actual people, a chunk of them, want separate servers for the two major versions!
I also think a SSF server has the potential to be longterm stable!
I would say it is indicative of interest. Sure not everyone pays a lot of attention to outside sources but there are people who do.
Absolutely!
But the the 7 players will be split between 2 servers ?
I swear there’s at least 15 of them!
I think you’d be surprised!
