So this poll lacks two important options imo:
permadeath - no more rules
2 separate servers.
There is no way to know where exactly those 500 or so people that answers “whatever ruleset” stand in reality, but we see that at least a visible amount absolutely definitevly want SSF.
Again, I don’t understand the frantic oppostion to two servers. What’s wrong with choices?

I already explained the “frantic” opposition.
Personally don’t care if they do 2 servers. If they do you’ll see the SSF will end up a very small player base imho. Which will hurt that branch more than help.
What? I’m arguing that it is wise to release two separate servers to see which one holds best. There is not spinning in favor of SSF here.

I completely disagree.
This is all assumptions.
No one knows what the future will bring.
But we do see that there is a well balanced portion of players on “each side”, which I think is a strong argument to let players chose.

Maybe then can have two options to pick from at character creation, official HC or SSF and those who pick SSF will be ported over to dark souls deathless runs.
People can already “choose” by just playing SSF on the official hardcore server
For a lot of players, the ultimate dream is for the whole server to have the SSF ruleset, which is not the same as imposing the rules on yourself on a regular server.
It might not make sense to you, but it does for a lot of people
You guys can create a discord and pick a single player game that you all play and compare your times
One could almost think the obsessive opposition to the release of separate servers is rooted in a fear of their favorite version not being the popular one after all.

If you’re so sure the SSF is the majority then a majority of players on the official HC servers will be SSF so why does it matter if non SSF HC players share your server?
You already aren’t allowed to interact with other players anyway so it shouldn’t matter
having atleats one SSF server is beneficial for longevity. these servers will be for the ages and people who want to start fresh and play real HC dont wanna join a server where every alt runs around twinked out with fiery wep and stuff. and after 1-2 months every server without additional rules will look exactly like that.
I’m arguing that since no one knows what the future will bring. But we see a more or less balanced numbers for “each camp”, it is wise to let people chose, and let future unfold naturally
