Here’s to getting the word to Blizzard that the potential for money is absolutely there!
edit/update:
All rules are self imposed. But for a lot of people the dream is a whole server with everyone on it playing by the same rules. Which I think is evident by us getting HC servers to begin with
So are you trying to argue that there are more people that want SSF servers that aren’t already playing hardcore with the addon then there are that dont want those restrictions that are not playing hardcore because they are waiting for official servers?
Because it can already be proven with 100% certainty that there is a large number of players using the addon that dont like the restrictions
So in order for SSF supporters to outnumber those against it there would need to be a sizable amount of players in favor of SSF that aren’t already playing hardcore
In my opinion, there isn’t a need for this hostility and polarizing between the “two camps”. Which is why I argue to release two servers and let people chose
It seems there is a balanced number of each camp
since u like to use math and ur not assuming anything, whats the number here?
since u dont know how many people waiting for only death=delete and how many of the current HC playerbase want SSF u cant possible be certain which camp is in the majority.
like i said im under the impression more people want SSF. also most big HC streamers want restrictions and influence their viewerbase. but i cant be sure about that 100%. thats logic. ur just makin stuff up in ur deluded mind.
I agree with Çib in that the “outnumbering” part is irrelevant.
I’m arguing that since no one knows what the future will bring. But we see a more or less balanced numbers for “each camp”, it is wise to let people chose, and let future unfold naturally
Edit/update:
It might just be (this is speculation, but nonetheless a real possibility), that an “unlimited” server would turn out to be a fad, while a SSF server would turn out to be longstanding.
And of course, vice versa.
We will however, never know unless we release two separate servers and let the community unfold naturally.
The hardcore community is extremely lucky they are even getting an official server in the first place.
The SSF ruleset can be played on any server already regardless of restrictions so it only makes logical sense that blizzard wouldn’t dedicate an entire server for something that can be accommodated with a simple toggle on character creation
I disagree. I think it’s long overdue for official permadeath servers. The hype is telling.
For a lot of players, the ultimate dream is for the whole server to have the SSF ruleset, which is not the same as imposing the rules on yourself on a regular server.
It might not make sense to you, but it does for a lot of people
They didn’t even make stand alone tbc servers yet you expect them to dedicate an entire server to appease a small fraction of the hardcore community that have OCD about sharing a server with hardcore players not playing SSF even though under the rules of SSF you aren’t allowed to interact with non SSF players in the first place
Thank you for linking
So this is a Reddit post with 7 upvotes, and the poll has a about 1000 answers - the answers which pidgeonholes people to specific choices where “2 separate servers” isn’t even an option.
Edit/update:
Again, this is total speculation on the numbers. And I don’t understand the OCD part. It seems to me you have OCD about Blizzard not releasing a SSF permadeath server?
you click on “view poll” if you’re using Reddit old school UI. Also the absolute highest voter turnout is “whatever the ruleset will be”
Edit/update:
so if anything that’s just another huge argument for releasing two seperate servers.
And I find it so bizarre to be so frantically opposed to it, like some are
Plain and simple SSF option lags by almost 400 votes behind “whatever the basic ruleset is” which ultimately shows SSF isn’t as desired as claims here.
Small sample size but still a poll that has better info than estimating based on upvotes and likes here on forums.
There is no way to know where exactly those 500 or so people that answers “whatever ruleset” stand in reality, but we see that at least a visible amount absolutely definitevly want SSF.
Again, I don’t understand the frantic oppostion to two servers. What’s wrong with choices?
Based on numbers from everywhere splintering an already small player base on multiple servers hurts everyone more than helps.
SSF being self enforced until 60 where everyone can they play together (since the SSF restrictions drop at 60) benefits everyone more than splintering an already niche community.
that u cant see that “whatever the basic ruleset is” is neither for or against SSF or only death=delete shows how lacking ur understandig of simple logic rly is.
But the community is absolutely booming though? Already small player base? You think so?
And it won’t hurt everyone. It will be a dream for a lot of people. Maybe it will hurt you, which I find bizarre.
