Let people chose, give us two versions of HC

The unique dynamic of being dead in 6 months, yeah probably

That’s more time than I’d give it. Especially if they make it no trading at 60. Goodbye any raid loot that accidentally gets given to the wrong person.

I think for some people this would be the exact charm they want. Basically a “slower” experience overall

Imo you don’t want an mmo but rather a solo rpg set in the WoW universe.

In your opinion, I want that. However, my opinion is, in fact, not that

You sure? I bet if you thought about it some more you might circle around to that being in fact what you want.

positive!

I don’t play hardcore. I don’t find it fun, but I can see why people like it.

However, I think HC players SHOULD get their own server with AH/trading/mail fully blocked.

If players want AH/trading/mail, then they can just use the addon on a normal server. No reason to make a server that isn’t consistent with the things that make HC challenging.

The reason would be to harbor a specific unique server dynamic.

The same could be said about those wanting those restrictions

HC is death = permanent.
SSF is the No trading, mail, auction house.

While I agree SSF does add a different difficulty in its own. For me it makes the game feel like a solo player RPG and lack the mmo bite. Making a server with permanent death should accommodate everyone since anyone can just play the way they want on any server already existing the only shared thing among HC and SSF is permanent death.

I would even say removing AH would add more to the server as well since it would bring in more social interaction to those who don’t want SSF but still want to trade for quest items made by other professions, or profession items like rods for enchanting, belt buckles/potions that lw need. Those who do want SSF don’t want the AH anyways.

There is no way to accomodate everyone on one server.
But we do see two substantial camps. You can accomodate both those camps with separate servers

There is though, which has already been explained multiple times

The restrictions of SSF dont rely on other people on the server playing by the SSF rules

That is true. But also something that has been “explained multiple times” is the vibe of a specific unique server dynamic.

Edit/update

You don’'t rely on other for permadeath either, right?
It’s all about server dynamic

A lvl 60 player not deleting their character when they die and purposely griefing players is a totally different beast than the dynamic of a perma death hardcore player merely existing on the same server with a hardcore SSF player

solid argument! I agree

We’re not going to get different servers for this lol.

What’s realistically going to happen is we get one server where one side of the fence is going to have to “opt-in” to how they’d like to play.

can anyone tell me why you would want unlimited trading in a hardcore setting?
is it just for boosting or what?

If all REAGENTS were tradable i could get behind that, wouldnt care either way tho. You obviously need trading at 60 for enchants and things, should be based around reagents and non-trade window enchanting.

otherwise, trading is such a lulsy idea. 100% defeats the purpose, the game isnt hard if you have gear. you wont have to push hard quests for gear upgrades, you just farm green mobs for gold and buy your greens on the ah lol.

They should however, add an Account Bound Bank, so that you can store things for other characters if you die so you dont lose all your progression when you die. Casuals seem to hate that. It would also allow you to do things like find an epic BoE and put it in your BoA bank and make a character for it, like how it works in every other hardcore game LOL

The SERVER itself will not do anything about PARTIES, people are def just going to get boosted and mob tag and 5 man elite quests and do all dumb st to defeat the purpose of playing hardcore, or playing a video game for that matter xD. Why make it so boring?
