Not all the trash mobs in all Dungeons/Raids work the same. Some drop very little or nothing at all, depending on the circumstance. If the dungeons/raids you are in have a history of being exploited, the loot may have been adjusted to help curb that behavior.
I’m afraid Customer Support wouldn’t be able to provide details on loot tables and which dungeons/raids may fall into that category.
That said, if you believe you have encountered a bug the best thing to do is submit a bug report so our QA team can take a look.
I guess I just don’t understand how it’s a good player experience if I cannot obtain greens to disenchant to level Legion Enchanting when TBC instances drop plenty.
I’m not sure how I would be able to distinguish if it’s a bug or if it’s a harsh nerf to demotivate exploiting/botting. Which forum section should I go to discuss this and likely get an answer for it?
Only reason I came here first is because of how quick you guys (and players here) are to discuss these matters and are the best shot I have in getting somewhat of an answer.
If you are just referring to greens, it is unlikely that it has anything to do with exploitation. It is entirely possible that the drop rate hasn’t changed for those dungeons, they may just be different from other expansions. That’s not entirely unusual.
I should mention that any change made to prevent exploitation isn’t always the best player experience, but the alternative is often much much worse.
You wouldn’t. QA wouldn’t be able to provide an answer, but they would look into a potential bug and if it is verified to not be intentional, then they can implement a fix. Those are usually published in Bug Fix and Hot Fix blogs.
That’s not true though. In TBCC raids I can run Karazhan or BT and at least get a few greens throughout the raid to disenchant. Nighthold I got like 2 halfway through and barely any vendor loot. You can run dungeons and get a few greens as well in.
Idk, maybe Personal Loot reduced the amount of drops in the entire instance (ignoring bosses). I think Vrakthris is just right in that green droprates probably just got nerfed as expansions went on.
It’s just jarring to kill things in an instance and not see them drop any loot. It feels like a bug but I guess it’s by design now.
Do you not have a tailor/leatherworker/blacksmith that you can crank out stuff to DE? That would probably be far easier and less time-intensive than depending on instances .
I understand, but going in for BoEs is just something you don’t want to expect. Whatever drops is a “bonus” so to speak. Otherwise you’ll just stress yourself over not getting x amount of greens/blues/purples. It’s completely random.
Later expansions absolutely have a nerfed drop rate on top of it as well.
If we’re talking about purchasing mats from vendors, I’d recommend they wait until Legion TW comes back around and buying the mats bags for 25 badges a piece. Much better bang for the buck IMO.
I appreciate the offer, but I’ll be ok. This was mostly going to be a passive gain thing until I hit the wall with no greens dropping. The Blood of Sargeras is an alternative I didn’t consider as I forgot that materials weren’t strictly from BoEs any longer.
Just gonna put on some vods and crunch it out. Thanks tho
Yeah I remember the pain from doing…Balance of Power? I think I did that like twice and it being painful everytime. Either way, I’m good now. I didn’t realize that greens droprate was probably nerfed to oblivion in recent expansion instances.
Something else to note is that, during the original release of the expansions, and classic servers for regular and TBC, there were different amounts of loot drops. Those were changed in later expansions so what you are experiencing in TBCC for loot will not be the same as it is in retail.
