Not quite double (probability equations can get messy), but close enough. Yes, any item that is on multiple loot tables, or any model shared by items on two drop tables, will have (approximately) twice the chance to drop across the entire raid. But that’s fine, Blizzard isn’t optimizing this setup for getting our transmog unlocked ASAP, they’re simply making it reasonable to farm them solo.
You may also get duplicates off bosses. You may get the wrong armor type. You may get non-transmog slot items like jewelry, relics, or trinkets. But overall, legacy loot is going to make it roughly 5 times easier to get what you’re after on any given kill (though, btw, it’s not 5 times because you’re getting 5 items now, that’s actually just a coincidence, my math on the probabilities is up above).

Here’s hoping; I finally got one of the three pieces I was after in night hold tonight off Trilliax, now I just have to wrestle the Heroic Architect’s coif of despair from Krosus and the Heroic belt of celestial alignment from Elisande . Anything in particular you’ll be farming come Tuesday’s patch and reset?
is this going to completely demolish any chance of the 110 stuck people in legion from being able to gain gear from raids such as Antorus Mythic with the 120s? if 120s will just roll through in groups of 4 and then need everything for Tmog it leaves the less fortunate people that cant afford BFA expansion with no way to gear up.
What? This means more loot drops unless you were running in a group of 20, so this can really only increase your chances of getting loot.
Edit: though I guess now it’s not personal loot, so there’s that. But still, unlikely 120’s would be need rolling on stuff like relics, trinkets, rings, or armor they can’t equip. Blizzard also doesn’t have a ton of incentive to optimize gameplay around people that didn’t buy the latest expansion.
It’s also worth noting that you can buy BFA for, at current prices, 411k gold (3 tokens at 137k each) and $5 USD, or 548k gold (4 tokens) without spending a dime of real life money (and you’ll have $10 bnet balance left over).
Edit2: though to be honest, it might just be better to wait and buy Shadowlands instead, once they upgrade the standard sub to include BfA for free. Shadowlands is only $40 for the base edition, rather than $50 (BfA), and you’d want to buy Shadowlands at that point anyway.

subscription income should be atleast incentive enough to keep the 110’s wanting to play. And as I recall back when the Need/Greed was the in use system there were LOTS of people needing on stuff they had no use for just to disenchant. Adding Tmog into the mix in only foresee the unnecessary Need rolling being worse.
Sure, back when that content was current, because the disenchant mats were current. 120’s don’t care one wit about Legion d/e mats.
Also, the sub income from the very very small number of people that did not upgrade to Shadowlands isn’t exactly significant. Not really worth spending dev resources on, especially since it’s unlikely too many of those peeps would unsub just because they unlocked legacy loot.
IF the some 120’s could prove to be atleast respecting of the 110 stuck people it wont be an issue… willing letting the lower get the gear they don’t have use for or need for their Tmogs. Then I could potentially boost the ability for a 110s to gain more gear per run. Unfortunately finding a small group of people like that isn’t always easy and it seems human greed always finds a way to ruin what could be an awesome idea and system. I hope this can help both the current xpac people and the previous bound people, but at this point I remain skeptical of how it will turn out purely due to human nature.
Will warlocks be able to get the personal push loot weapons? I’d like to give my felguard Taeshalach.
Any cool items for a druid to get
That is fantastic news. My demon Hunter still needs the belt from mythic Gul’dan.

Finally, was hoping for this to be the norm when legacy loot was introduced. Would still love if legacy loot requirement was simply changed to 10 levels instead of 11 permanently so S.L would allow BFA to be legacy content and not be affected by personal loot however for now, I’m greatly satisfied with this change. Thanks.

I guessing then there won’t be a damage buff like there is in current legacy content?
If it’s mostly done by transmoggers now can we have bop’s be boe or boa instead?
Legacy buff kicks in when you’re 11 levels over the content, so we’ll get it once Shadowlands releases and we start leveling again.
notes to self Stay outta M Antorus lol
They’re also not going to change any encounters that may require multiple people. Like Mythic Eonar, you still need at least four people to complete the encounter.
At least Antorus has multiple places you can mount and sell all your crap. Tomb on the other hand…

Should have been like this since the start of BFA. Please don’t do it again with Shadowlands and BFA raids.
