Maybe this will take some heat off the layering threads?
Or do we get to double dip and get both?

We’ve never seen meleeing from the range you can get in leeway, even in the original vanilla. And with spell batching there’s a delay on more than just spells (which wasn’t how it used to work).
I dunno man. Sounds like a case of “feels vs reals.” I’m always to open to evidence of course and willing to adjust my position if provided.
All of these things is how it worked in vanilla.
I feel like this is the sort of stuff Blizz could easily confirm with their test client, and fix. If it is, they’ll fix it. If not, they won’t.
“There are more people with low latency now than there were in 2006”
Exactly! That means this leeway is NOT NEEDED anymore!
The availability of high speed internet has grown MASSIVELY since 2006!
Average Latency issues are DOWN, and I am just talking about layer one here
Average GRAPHICAL latency is DOWN because we are not playing on POTATOES anymore!
Lets hope they go back on this just like they did on the “No German Language Servers”
That being said I am totally rolling a Lock not a hunter…
If leeway was here ONLY for technical perspective.
Then it should not be removed but adapt to our modern hardware
Like Classic is using 64 bits client and doesn’t support old operating system.
Correct. The issue with FD not dropping combat and not working reliably is due to spell batching, however. Likewise being able to walk right out of freezing trap is also a spell batching issue.
There’s already videos out about how ridiculous it is. You can compare them to PvP videos at the time, and there’s no evidence of them being able to melee at 11+ yards (which is already well into the ranged attack area) but there is on beta.
It’s an already heavily reported bug. There’s no indication of a fix yet, though. Frost Trap/Scatter Shot sharing a DR isn’t intended either, but it’s still there. It didn’t share that in vanilla for example and there were freezing effects by name as well.
Play on the same computer you had back then… then I will accept #noChanges…
Oh and also wipe your memory…
I fear the double dip. It’s bad at parties.
Ah but 64 bit clients are not a game-play mechanic.
Leeway is and altering it changes the game-play fundamentally from vanilla. Therefore it is more important to preserve vs something that is related only to behind the scenes performance.
Leeway was really only there to help those with bad connections. Given that’s not really the case anymore (same with spell batching), everyone has good connections and tech but they’re still receiving the benefits of it. Which goes to show it’s way overtuned, and the gap between ticks is much more generous than it ever was.
Play on the same computer you had back then
Don’t be stupid. I could and did upgrade my computer multiple times during Vanilla. The hardware you play in is irrelevant to the game, and a personal thing regardless.
Oh and also wipe your memory…
No different that leveling an alt.
You’re not very good at forming coherent arguments are you? No changes is a game-play thing.
What the… get a bad graphics card and a bad network you’ll see if hardware is irrelevant.
#nochanges right… because there is AMPLE evidence of being hit with leway ALL THE TIME in Classic by ALL of the Best Rank 14 PvPers… out there… I totally remember seeing Cows hamstring outside of their Warstomp range… /sarcasum
Only if you were a huntard did
Or perhaps they were, but they had like 120ms. Or even if they had 30ms perhaps their target had 200ms.
It’s hard to tell but i’m sure that the leeway feeling with our modern hardware won’t feel authentic even if it is.
says the guy that posts #NoChanges ad nauseam…
My post was satirical in case you did not pick that up…
The point is that’s a personal experience. Yours does not mirror mine, and your hardware is irrelevant to me. It’s not and wasn’t part of my game-play experience, so telling me to downgrade my computer for “authentic nochanges” is meaningless idiocy trying to be used as some sort of “Gotcha!”
Leeway is literally letting things happen OUTSIDE of the designed and tooltiped game limitations…
Also “what if” argument… please try harder.
I did not play a lot of a huntard, so I may be quite undereducated.
All I remember, is that I played a bit on WotLK, but the built-in aggro alerts were just annoying. There was a disturbing alert sound supposed to catch your attention during dungeons and raids, but it would repeat like many times a second because my pet kept gaining and losing aggro.
Dont play because of layering then… because #nochanges
My post was satirical in case you did not pick that up…
How am I supposed to pick up on satire when important things like voice inflection don’t exist in a text conversation?
The satirical arguments you presented have been used as actual arguments by some.
