This is exactly what I have a problem with
How is this not an enormous change to the way vanilla wow plays, though? Removing leeway does little to nothing to change gameplay. Like i’m just curious as to where the line is drawn, and why’s it’s drawn there.
Also this thread…
Blizzard: We are making classic!
Everyone: You got this on lock! #nochanges!
Blizzard: By the way we added layering, batching is broken, leeway is broken, we added right click report, loot trading, retail AV, mounts, etc.
Everyone: YOU HAD ONE JOB!
Apologists: Yay #nochanges!
The fact that I can’t queue my spells these days, because I don’t have the same lag, meaning that I’m not really queuing my spells but actually pre-empting by sending a request early, isn’t a mechanic anyone wants back.
I’m glad that lag has been reduced such that I can play like Americans in America, where I used to play like an Australian on an American server.
However, I would not want to force everyone to be forcibly reverted back to my experience, because I had high latency when I played in most of Vanilla. When I finally started jumping through all the hoops to get even down to 100ms from Australia, it was a seachange for gameplay. But I’m not going to demand that Blizzard arbitrarily slow down the game because of my latency in 2004.
How is what you’re doing, any different to that?
You are literally saying “I never experienced this, so change the game to match my experience.” But since everyone’s experience was different, managed by factors outside of Blizzard’s control, they cannot do that and are simply doing what they can confirm as accurate.
You want Blizzard to change things to conform to your experience, but your experience is not mine, nor is it someone else’s. How is it possible that they could do that for everyone??
So pretty much a player can “jump” a Warriors charge (cool interaction, authentic) but it ultimately makes no difference as mid jump the Warrior can now guaranteed Hamstring you because everyone has the benefit of leeway?
So the interaction is now nullified.
Yep… melee player…
I’ll just use my extra reach from Leeway to hit you through layers! There’s no hiding from my melee!
I don’t actually want them to do anything. I have my opinions, but i’m playing regardless of what happens. The only line I have for quitting is if layering isn’t gone in P2. I was merely trying to get a better understanding of your opinion on the matter.
Would you like to go search for the video about the guy ranting about hamstring and how people can hit him from out of range, but he can’t hit them, and how it lasts so much longer for him but not for them?
I mean I would be happy to view it if you could provide it.
It seems like a very obscure search topic if I attempted to find it myself.
I hope they test out reduced range for it, since it’s not needed anymore.
Juking is fun. I play both ranged and melee, I want more skill in pvp not less.

Warning: Gonna mark it as copypasta because of the language.
You mean this video…
https:// www.youtube. com/watch?v=B8QIa3klodc
He said NOTHING about range… or is it some OTHER video…
In fact he said was talking about MISSING someone running AWAY from him…
He must not have lived in LA…
Clearly he didn’t since people could hamstring him, but he couldn’t reach them.
Oh…there is no video…disappointing.
Also isn’t this leeway not working in Vanilla?
So…it kind of loses relevance with the question on hand of “everyone now has good connections, why do we need a system that is solely designed to smooth out bad connections”
Also, if it was already broken in Vanilla why do we want it in Classic?
#nochanges… mugghugglellegguurgulle
I don’t have to prove anything. Blizzard did it for me. Burden of proof is on you to disprove them and their reference client. You can’t though, so you’ll probably reply with either misdirection, or already debunked material like 15 year old videos.
It has been proven ad nauseam with the lack of evidence of it working in 2004 as it is working in 2019 Classic…
You mean…their reference client located in close proximity to their servers a situation that almost no vanilla player was in from 2004-2006?
Whilst connecting with internet services that weren’t around in 2004-2006?
Seems like a good test.
Latency is not something they can realistically just test on their reference client.
Where? If you want to claim that videos from 2005 are proof, then you should be able to replicate them in 2019, in Classic, with the same hardware and internet connection to demonstrate a discrepancy.
Otherwise they are proof of nothing as they were taken under different circumstances.
