Leeway here to stay

Why tune modern-day classic based on the struggles of a minority 15 years ago?

So you want to keep things the same for the minority who had fast internet in 2004 and not the majority who didn’t?

And you’re the same person who is in favor of layering? Man I don’t understand the thought processes of some of you people.

BINGO

The game was TUNED around majority crap internet… now we dont have that…

So it needs to be removed… Period…

That’s because you can’t differentiate between necessary evil, and authenticity. Whenever possible, take authenticity. Leeway was in the game then, and is in the game now. Spell batching is in the game then, and is in the game now.

Layering is a necessary evil because the player demographics have changed in a way that is destructive to the long term stability of the game if it’s not accounted for.

Who is the minority? People with fast or slow internet…

I personally find wildly incorrect and inconsistent melee ranges in PVP to be destructive to the long-term health of the game, but what can you do.

And nobody remembers what you are saying is accurate in EXECUTION.

I’ll ask, too. Show the proof. I’m rifling through a metric ton of Vanilla videos and don’t see anything like we see in Classic

None. Nada. I keep looking.

Show me one video. Go ahead. You keep saying it’s working as intended but we’ve seen countless examples of how a BUNCH of stuff isn’t working as intended in Classic.

The burden of proof is on you. Nobody can find videos showing the same leeway we see in classic.

None.

Now you go and find it.

We’ve seen enough videos to show that it ISN’T working as it was. It’s your turn to show it IS.

Put up or shut up.

Here’s what I know. At the moment and for the forseeable future, private servers are offering a much better classic wow experience than blizzard is.

No, I keep saying that Blizzard is saying its working as intended. I don’t need to show proof, because I’m not making the claim. I’m pointing at the developers of the game making the claim.

If you claim Blizzard is lying, you need to step up and say so. Pointing at me doesn’t disprove anything Blizzard has said. Every time Davyjones has been asked he’s agreed Blizzard isn’t lying.

And no evidence that those were recorded by anyone living near the data centers. Put up or shut up was it? The burden of proof is not on me.

Except that was only an experience for a very limited number of players, and it was only an experience because of those limitations.
Had Vanilla been created this very day, leeway would not have been a mechanic.

It was designed specifically to address a known issue. An issue of which is no longer present. So why does the issue need to be addressed? Knowing that 90% of the players never experienced the game as it is currently playing, and irrespective of the issues that it creates.

See you on August 27th.

#nochanges

Let me ask you something different then. Do you agree with the consequences of leeway in a modern setting, or do you think it should be adjusted?

Oceanic Guilds did NOT kill Thad until they moved the datacenters to Australia…

Lag WAS an issue in 2004-2006

UNLIKE it is today…

These #nochangers are just melee scrubs who want to abuse the “as intended” mechanics of a game that while IN the code in 2004 did NOT work how it will in 2019

They aren’t lying.

They even ADMITTED it will be a different experience but are keeping the numbers “because reasons”.

That fundamentally alters the meta. Flat out.

There is no ignoring that. You can plug your ears all you want.

The numbers are the same - it’s EXECUTION in today’s world - ISN’T - by Blizzards own admission.

Need to check a “what class/race are you playing in a Vanilla thread”.

Ahhh…all Tauren Warriors. I understand now.

No, you won’t. If layering is in place you won’t see me at all.

I’m a Hunter, and the only type of person who calls anyone a “scrub” isn’t usually worth listening to.

Oh, #nochanges.

Cold as ice.

I think we should get leeway because it was a mechanic back then. We can all enjoy the glorious experience of having further reach.
