I just want to point out that so many people talk about how Mythic+ awards are too plentiful when compared to raids, but what they fail to look at is the time investment.
An average pug group can spend up to 30 to 40 minutes doing a Mythic+, only to earn a total of 2 pieces of gear from the investment. Meanwhile, a raid of 30 people can down likely up to 3 bosses in that same time period, earning a total of about 9 pieces of loot within the same time period.
What makes it even more interesting is that if the dungeons in question are 4+ bosses, which most Mythic+ dungeons were in Shadowlands, the loot pool drops are pulled from are much larger pool than the pool for those 3 raid boss kills, and so you have a higher chance that if you do get an item to drop, it has a higher chance to be something you don’t want or even need.
I’ve compared my tanks who have geared purely from Mythic+ to those who have only geared from raids this season, and those from raids are higher item level than myself, despite having uncapped valor. Had valor still been capped, my overall item level would be much lower by comparison.
There will always be outliers, I’ve done dozens of Mythic+ keys and gotten no drops from any of the dungeons in the past, it sucks but that’s just how RNG works. The same can happen to those who raid, and the opposite luck is also possible.
Ultimately both modes need some better bad luck protection imo.
I’m a firm believer M+ would be fine. I will say, bring on that system. For starters I’ll enjoy having 3 methods to gear even faster, and second again, I think M+ will be perfectly fine. Raid probably dies though I agree there.
I think a really easy win would have been to give Torghast its own row in the weekly vault, have the reward scale up depending on how high you go/how successful you are.

Would have made sense for SL. What are your thoughts for DF?
I suppose they could really expand on the mage tower. Maybe make 8 new towers or something for DF, and then add two new ones per patch. They would have to make it so every spec could solo it, but they should be able to scale and design the content like that.
Honestly, i think that whatever content Blizzard implements in DF will have imbalanced effort v reward ratio with poorly implemented reward structures and punishing grinds. Pretty much everything at the start of expansions these days is made this way, it’s only in the final patch that they make things better because they’re struggling to keep subscribers.
Part of me wonders if i should just play the final patch of each expansion and take a break for the rest.
Also, Barsky, you’re an odd one lol
Aren’t we all? I mean, who truly visits these forums except the misfits of MMO’s.
