% I want to be excited about Dragonflight, excited enough to buy the epic pre-purchase, but what have we seen so far? The laziest playable race ever created, a cinematic, and two in progress talent trees. Not even an alpha yet.
I am very worried. Holding off on pre-purchase until I see… something.

Just because you dislike how something works or looks doesn’t mean it is lazy. For the love of god stop labeling things you don’t like what it isn’t. It is ok to dislike something, but label it what it is.
How are they lazy? They get a unique starting area, a unique class all to themselves, unique cosmetic options… Are you sure you meant to say lazy? because that’s not super realistic.
I’m not. Not how they are now. For me, it’s a question of will the rest of the expansion be good enough.

I didn’t pull “lazy” out of thin air as an insult. I explained why I feel this way in the original post. Not my fault people can’t be bothered to read it before replying.

these are all nice. now they need to go a few steps further and:
- let us be male and female belf or male and female human. its only fair. and i wouldnt mind male and female gnome. gnomes would look cool with visage form.
- add tank spec. good grief.

I did, your complaints are surface level. Obviously a lot of work has gone into the Drachthyr. Also, the complaints about the reskins, isn’t realistic. People have done comparisons and there isn’t a perfect lineup.
Other than the class, this describes every “box feature” race added to the game. It’s the bare minimum. But speaking of the class, first race to only have access to one class. That’s not exactly changing my mind on the lazy thing.

Demon Hunters were literally a reskin, and their abilities were taken from other classes… If we’re comparing the two, Drachthyr are leagues better.
well the male elf was with a female elf and the female human was with a male human. tada. now male/female elf. male/female human. otherwise horde gets another alliance race and alliance just gets what they already have.

Not to mention every non allied race has had a unique starting area, unique class is more of a cop out than a feature. And that same class means that the new race is the first added to the game that can’t preform all three roles in some capacity. Look guys two shiny new toys but they can only go together and maybe someday we might let you use part of it on something else. The cosmetic options are nice but once attached to a combat form that can’t transmog and is likely to be pretty limited on the actual options is just meh.

Blood elves are more popular than humans. According to WowAnalytica, blood elves account for 20% of all characters in the US. Humans are at 9% Void elves are at 3%!
People like elves! I’m playing a fantasy game. I don’t want to be a human. I’m a human when I log off this game. It’s so boring. Give me pointy ears!

So did every other added race bro, that’s par for the course for new races. In fact long ago each race had it’s own starting area you did stuff in before moving on to other areas. The fact that they have one isn’t proof it’s not lazy it was bare minimum. Especially with the “Lore” they wrote

I agree with your post, not all of the points, but because Dracthyr cannot use gear for transmog or have more than one class… they are lazy.
I was going to compare them to Worgen model wise and using existing rigs but then I was like… they can be DRUIDS. We got a whole entire new look of a class with them.

well let me put it this way. its kinda boring how it is now. as alliance, if i only play female chars, and i want to try a drac evoker, my only visage option is a race i have 15 versions of already (et. al human female). thats boring. but a female elf with those cool visage things, now we’re talking.
