Would be nice if it were rebuilt (would be nice if a lot of Cata damage finally got fixed) but it’s kinda pointless since it’s all silted up anyway.

For me they are uninteresting because there is no established lore about them like Blood Elves, Draenei, Worgen, Goblins, or even Pandaren.
It’s just like… this expansion is about dragons so here’s this random dragon worgen race. Their origin story is… Deathwing was trying to make the ultimate dragon warrior humanoids wink wink nudge nudge.
Really more than anything, I’m bothered about having to use the “visage” form for mounting.
It’s not anymore complex than Worgen or Zandalari Boomkin mounting-it feels really, really random that you can’t mount because… you have wings, a tail, and digitigrade legs…? That’s it, right? Those are the issues?
I’m not, and pretty sure most people are not super excited about “visage” form. I’m going to guess it was about deciding which features were going live and which ones were getting left on the cutting room floor, but it feels like to me it would ultimately be faster to just nose to grindstone this one and do it right in the first place.

Pretty sure that it’s just mounting in dragon form would require a mounted pose and mounted idle animation and they can’t even be bothered with that little bit of extra work.

I guess with the rushed release date we’re stuck with this sad state of affairs. Male blood elf + human female = new race, one body option for dragon form, next to no access to mogging. Very sad.
The Evoker class being leashed to a singular race and the Dracthyr being leashed to a singular class has to be one of the most mind-boggling own-goals I have EVER seen made by a major game publisher and developer. We’re clamoring for more customization, more player options, and more expression, and they spin around and decide on THIS?
What in the everliving hell is this decision? Either the Dracthyr are DOA and derided as a joke-race (kind of like how BLU is derided as a joke-job in FF14), or eventually other classes will open up to them because it makes no sense that dragons can’t, y’know, try a different profession or such and the whole single-class-race experiment ends in failure ANYWAY.
I have no words nor any idea what the hell they think they’re doing here, but it’s a mistake, worse than DHs being kept as literally one-race-per-faction.

This is what bugs me the most. Why is it JUST these races? Why not add those scaly reskins to all models and let us pick the race we want our dragons!??!

The out of combat body options are kinda meh, some people will take or leave it. The single body dragon form is pretty pathetic and lazy, really unbecoming of this caliber of game. Particularly when they want an extra $10 for it. But your character not reflecting the gear they have equipped is literally going backwards 25 years in RPG game standards.
The rest of the expansion being this low effort is what everyone is worried about right now.

I just want pants at this point… And more options for class/role but I have a feeling that’s the new “hill to die on” like conduit energy and covenants.

It’s honestly so, so stupid. Needless restrictions like this just frustrate player choice. Not only can any race in FF14 be any class, but they can SWAP classes, and they STILL have ample identity and prestige between them.

at the very least, allow male and female belf and male and female human. wouldnt mind male and female gnome, too, but when the drac were created, i dunno if gnomes had already received the curse of flesh yet

Doesn’t matter if they did the Visage from what I understand isn’t preprogrammed but based on the fact that the first “people” they meat are a human female and a belf male. And much like everything else about the race one thing is all they need. 1 Class, 1 body type normally, 1 male & 1 female visage, 1 really unstable lore reason for all of it.
That can be changed with the stroke of a pen. Instead of meeting a blood elf male and human female, they meet a blood elf male/female and a human male/female. It’s so asinine to say you’re restricted by lore.
Guys… YOU WRITE THE LORE.

No see you need to read more Dracthyr threads. Clearly the Lore is either a sentient document that grows and writes itself, or comes into existence by other means than the current team writing it. At least that’s the opinion I get based on some people’s reactions to the thought of Dracthyr having things like other classes or role options.

yeah if i’m playing alliance, i can only be human female ( i already can play female human). what about female blood elf? horde can be human female now but alliance just get more human females (i swear, the devs hate the alliance)
