They said ‘maybe’ there’s no definites aside from ehat you’re reading into it. They gave some half-hearted, wishy-washy, “Uh well they’ll be spending a lot of uh, time, uh with the heroes of Azeroth! Who knows!”
I think that’s probably the most disappointing part of the Dracthyr, for me. What’s the reasoning behind why those are the only visages? Also, which one will be Alliance and which one will be Horde? Is it possible they can go to either side? If they can’t then that just seems poorly thought out.
And I still dislike that Blizz made us have to grind, and continue to grind, for Allied Races.
The constant reskins with everything from mounts, armor sets, and races has been a problem since MoP… I honestly think Pandaren was the last time we got an original race skeleton. Devs don’t care…
This is exactly what’s been happening, little by little with the borrowed power systems they were tricking the playerbase with low effort content and I’m quite surprise they still want a full pricing on new expansions.
Blizzard was probably thinking well most consumers brands are doing it so we might as well follow suit. Making those boxers bigger but not much inside.
Honestly with their ‘Visage’ forms - They should’ve also allowed all the classic races, and a few of the allied ones (with the exception of an obvious few).
I mean it’s weird that the Drakthyr cannot have Tauren or Night Elves – Especially since they were prominantly out & about when the Drakthyr were created. That and the fact that Humans along with the High/Blood Elves - hadn’t even evolved into existence yet …
Bronze Drakthyr: “Oi Drakbro, what race are we?”
Green Drakthyr: “I don’t know Drakbruh, Blizzard used the lore as rags of toilet paper - Our race was created by the guy who constantly says or yells out ‘who cares!?’ with stuff about lore.”
The visage forms should had just looked like how the Dragons in-games visage forms look like.
Such as:Azuregos, Alexstrasza & Ysera — with the Dragonoid horns.
Then maybe perhaps:
Some subtle scale-visuals on the body (Not on the face).
Dragon tattoos (like Nozdormu).
Occasional wing-flex from their humanoid forms, much like the animation effect when Rogues use the ‘Fangs of the father’ - for the black dragon wings.
One we haven’t gotten anything close to a “This Expansion” that’s just something the Anti-More options team keeps telling us to hold on for. Two the race and class are a creation which the creator could have easily had more than one type of soldier. Three I go back to the first point because I doubt we are going to see more options this expansion because of the 1 Dracthyr per server rule. And no the interviews have clearly said the Race name not the Class name. Maybe they are just using it interchangeably for now, but if not opening up more classes when the race is still restricted would mean that people have to either delete their Envoker or not play one at all until the release of more options.
It’s a perfect opportunity to show how united the three clans are, but sadly the powers that be won’t provide the funding. Maybe, after we come back from Shadowlands, we will find it rebuilt. I won’t hold my breath, though. lol
