Laziest major new race in the history of the game

The fact that they don’t wear pants still annoy me like hell =/

Agreed like would at least 1 pants option be that hard to throw in?

Lazier than “Troll but no hunch”?

The race was literally designed by a furry so I’m not sure why you’re surprised that they don’t wear pants :joy:

Yeah not knowing how much or little armor will show and lited to elf and human visage is a bit of a negative for me.

They better be super fun. If that then I’ll probably main one or least have as an alt.

All or other furries wear pants dagnabit,

Allied races are excluded based on mostly being reskins with new racials and different classes anyways. And at least the upright trolls and furless pandas got druid forms done for them.

I have heard many druids bemoan the fact that their forms looked the exact same as any other druid of their race. No matter how far you go in M+ or Raids or PvP, you look the exact same as some day 1 newbie that has access to the same form. In the absolute most pedantic reading, yes, it is an opinion that it’s a problem. Just like it’s an opinion that cars should have seat belts. It’s not a strict fact by definition, but there’s enough weight to it that it might as well be.

You’re not really scoring any points in justifying the sheer lack of options available for the Dracthyr. Meanwhile, taking a route like this IS taking a path of least resistance. Why not design armor with both forms in mind so that you can show off your mog at all times? Why not allow them to choose ANY ‘normal’ race to be their Visage instead of BE Male and Human Female? What, dragons don’t like Pandas or Dwarves or Tauren (hint: there’s at least one dragon that does like Tauren)?

And we didn’t engage in any major operations against the Scourge until Wrath came around. Yes, there was Naxx, but that wasn’t nearly on the level that the DK intro quests insinuated the character was involved in. After all, these were storied heroes taken by undeath, which suggested they were in some titanic battle against the Scourge and fell. This would make sense if the character may have been involved in Stratholme or the events of TFT, but again, space goats weren’t part of that equation. The class was still granted to them because Blizzard saw that it was wise to make sure every race could be used with the new class, otherwise the class may as well not exist if you’re not a fan of the races that COULD otherwise be it. For instance, I want to play a Paladin, but the only races that really appeal to me aesthetically are Pandaren and Vulpera. Neither of which can be Paladin. Which means I never get to play Paladin, so the class might as well not exist in my copy of WoW.

Realest possible talk, if Evoker isn’t either turbo-busted at launch or at the very least one of the most entertaining classes ever offered by the game, then the Dracthyr are DOA, because there’s no other way to play them, and vice-versa, if you hate the Dracthyr aesthetically or something else about them puts you off but you want to play Evoker, well guess you don’t get to experience it.

Real cool.

/me adjusts glasses nerdily

ACTUALLY, I want to play the race without being restricted to a single class. Why the Dracthyr never learned how to SWING A SWORD is utterly boggling to me. Sneak around? Cast arcane magic? The straitjacket that’s being presented as a feature here is so backwards and lazy it’s practically an insult to people that have been clamoring for greater control over character customization and character expression.

dragons turn into different races, of course its a reskin.

extremely lazy…it’ll be their next issue/fail in DF that upsets the masses…they know it and so do we. no reason the race can’t be other classes at all (unless they had to rush the game and have no time…which seems to be the case :100:)

just gotta wait for the game to be out, then we can all have a /popcorn feast!

is there anything this community wont complain about?

Listen, I’m always down for new races to create new stories with, and dragons are good and good. But this implementation of them is asinine and backwards.

Not to mention a lot of existing races and classes could use some new ‘flavor’ options. But no lets funnel all the efforts into weak reskins.

“unique”, by adding a human and belf as a secondary form, so people are going to play it at least?

It’s not. Just look at the new DF pet, it’s a Vulpera in dragon form. They can easily make these races available to the players if they want to.

Easily all worse than the dragons.

Worgens worst than the new dragons!?!

Worgens are pretty good excluding the lack of tail.

Again, as stated in prior responses, your opinion. Keep crying, the world needs that water back.

I’m not likin de Dracthyr too much so far.

We barely see em so far to be fair but they look weird in de Visage form, real ugly.

I be wantin to see how their actual armor sets be lookin and if possible open them up to other classes like warrior, I be thinkin Dracthyr Warrior could look good.

But you know, if they stay bad then it just be one less thing I need to work on eh?

I’m curious as to the lore they wrote as to why Deathwing chose only blood elf males and human females to be the Dracthyr, and why not blood elf female and human males too? But I’m farely sure it’s just laziness really lol.
