I watched maybe a couple minutes of a stream from kargoz and layering actually was ruining the experience. People were switching layers and boars were disappearing and it seemed like a total sh*tshow. Just evaluating what I saw, clearly showed that at that particular time that layering was not working very well and it seemed like people could definitely “hack” the system to jump from layer to layer to farm resources. My opinion means no more than anyone else’s but I would definitely say that whatever system of layering that was being used in this stress test does not work and should not be part of the game.
So is being D/C constantly or watching a slide-show.
Generally speaking I dont trust the Devs when it cones to beta but after watching a youtube video from tipsout ( I think thats the name) I feel a bit better about it. He said they had already fixed a ton of bugs that had been reported so I think they are trying to get it all right. He also said from what he could tell that there was only probably about 1600 people in beta, which makes me wonder if part of the issue isn’t that they have it set so low that its not functioning as it should.
Hopefully they get it working or come up with another idea if they can’t.
That’s just it, isn’t it? The Devs have the blueprint for lightning in a bottle, but they think that they know better. It seems to be a theme in the industry lately. Bethesda probably heard warning bells before they launched 76 but thought they knew better. Anthem had some incredibly helpful feedback, but ignored it because they knew better than the market.
What a waste.
No immersion in this game anymore at all.
Kinda do cause the more low lvl plants/nodes you farm, the faster you skill up your skills, the faster you can get to the next stuff
Usually their is some “farming” involved in leveling a profession as you level, with easier access to more nodes/mats, less hunting and farming required
It wont make you rich day one or two but it still affects the game
Layering will be gone after the first week or so, just to ease a smooth launch … you guys are losing your god damn mind for no reason.
But as someone who suggested this in another thread.
Only make layering works on the first 2 zone. Which mean:
Alliance: Elwynn Forest&Westfall, Dun Moroh&Loch Mogan, Teldrassil&Darkshore.
Horde: Durotar&Chuck “Barrens” Norris, Mulgore&Chuck “Barrens” Norris, Tirisfall Glade&Silverpine Forest.
Layering should not exist outside of these zones, it would prevent a lot of thing that way.
Let me just hop layers really quick and grab this rare node!
Crap. Someone already got it. It’s like there are people on every layer or something…
I have so many other things in life to worry about.
A game that isn’t out yet has no immersion anymore? What are you talking about?
I am not in the beta but did the two stress tests and I am not a big fan of the layering. I hope they can work on it to fix the issues that they were having with it.
Do you really think the Classic launch is going to be exactly like Vanilla’s launch? Do you really think a small number of people are going to log in on launch day? You have no idea what it’s going to be like and neither does Blizzard, but they are coming up with solutions.
And you think you know better.
It’s beta. People shouldn’t’ be switching layers.
I think if classic is received well enough the population will actually increase for a while as more people start to play and get their friends to play and so on.
What about layering specifically do you take problem with, what effects that you have personally experienced or seen happen to those playing? Keep in mind that they know* that Layering is not working as intended and are working on it SO it is probably a good idea to give some detailed feedback on any issues or opinions of the system in general.
If you don’t mind, and this goes for everyone else here, consider sharing what you have experienced in the tests or what personal issues you have with Layering

Wat? How do you come to that conclusion from what he said?
Wisdom and experience.
this is a huge misunderstanding from the community. blizzard has already blue posted on this. the issue with the mobs disappearing has nothing to do with layers atm. it’s due to entities, it’s a bug they are working on.
I think the end goal is to lock people into a layer semi-permanently until the population dies down enough or just spreads out enough that they can turn it off. Basically, like CRZ but designed to be turned off almost immediately.
Then it means it’s bugged, because it isn’t supposed to be the same.
What in the world is “layering”? This has to be new
