Different dev team.
They’ve also stated that they will be keeping certain bugs in that made vanilla what it was. How niave of you to be honest.
All these people going around calling bugs when they are what made classic what it was.
On the layering issue. I agree that does need to be addressed.
Notice i call it layering as its not even the same tech as sharding.
They probably have never been in any beta and just repeat what all the negative troll kids do.
Enlighten me then.
Because right now it’s BfA sharding and not what Ion says it should be. It’s not a world-wide shard, it’s a plain simple BfA sharding with hopping and per zone sharding.
No its not.
Sharding will move you around randomly. With nearly no cause
Layering works differently.
- Once you log into beta you are in a layer.
- Only way to leave that layer is to log off and join another or join a party.
- All these reports about stuff appearing are bugs not associated with layering as has already been stated in s blue post.
Also it is the entire world.
Again all these reports about stuff just appearing when entering a new zone had nothing to do with layering. Its already been gone over by a blue post explaining layering isnt causing it.

You’re incorrect. I am happy with layering. It means that it’ll be less of a bottleneck when Classic launches.
Bad market move as they will lose so many subs with it in place as its not true classic and everyone says NO CHANGES but what is blizzard doing? Changes

absolutely.
the ONLY solution is to NOT subscribe.
I’d rather have too many people in the zone than feel as if I’m being assigned to a random server.

That’s the point of a beta. You’re supposed to find things that are broken.
How do you get to that conclusion? If the server cap is 3000… then if people are in your game, in a different layer, or waiting in a queue… you;re ecperience is the same is it not?
Upgrade servers so they can hold 10k+ people and have zero lag and it can be done as this is 2019 and not 2004.
The point is people want to play with and against the same people when they login.

Nope.
You move from shard to shard when you cross a zone boundary as well.
That’s literally how sharding works.
Yes, and I’ve pointed it out as well. However, it doesn’t change the fact that right now it’s just the Legion\BfA sharding that is active. The global shards are not implemented yet, it’s clear as day.
I don’t get your arguments. Even the shard hopping works exactly the same way it works in BfA.
NO it’s not. We’ve had blue posts stating that sharding is not active.
What you are seeing isn’t sharding or layering. it has to do with mobs and how entities are being address. which again blues have posted about.
Aren’t they taking out layering after the tests…?
Your not going to be fighting many people in the first several hours. You can group with your friends and once on a layer, not a lot will change with that 3000… people will come and go… but they do that on a 3000 cap server
I got that. That is why it made sense to shard 1-25 zones for a few weeks.
After the first few weeks when the population has dropped off.
There are going to be lot of ‘tourists’ checking out classic. They will be gone after a few weeks. Layering means that wont have to merge servers when they go.
That’s not how economics works…just saying.
