Blizzard should turn off layering ASAP.
Problem solved. Players should petition.

Holy crap! If thatâs legit, this is definitely a huge problem!
Never heard of a bank alt on a fresh server where people canât make runecloth bags yet or mageweave is the most populated easiest costing bag to come by. Itâs obvious heâs on classic wow. If he had all 14 or 16 slotters then it might become suspicious because of how early the server is still in itâs stages. Someone in my guild just last night finally able to make runecloth bags, but there arenât that many people farming and selling runecloth bags to make them dirty cheap for anyone to afford them. Itâs called being smart with his money and maximizing it at the same time.
This is absurd. STOP LAYER ABUSE NOW!
WoW motto = exploit early, exploit often
IF TRUE, this needs fixing.
Oh look. I was right. All of you, âyouâre a doomsdayerâ fools owe me an apology for wasting my time arguing with me. I TOLD you this would happen but you wanted to brown nose Blizzard for no reward instead. Imagine being that pathetic.
Sometimes I hate being right.
Put a 5 minute cool down on layer hopping, problem solved.
You act like heâs farming crystals and what not to sell on the AH when we all know heâs gonna horde that crap so he doesnât have to farm to get back into Naxx. Until he grinds out that exalted rep.
I mean, this will drive the price down hardcore anyways.
Depends on how many people are doing it. If itâs only a few players on a realm doing it, then those few players control almost all of the supply. Theyâll keep selling that supply at a steady trickle to keep the price high.
How hard is it to understand that this will ruin the economyâs of servers? are people REALLY that ignorant and short sighed.
if you can farm rare mats at 10000000x faster they are worth 100000000x times less
exactly, if even 1 person on a server has the majority of a rare resource they can completely crash out the value of that resource for EVERYONE.
Weâre not talking about couple hundred linen cloth getting into the market, talking about the amount of Black Lotusâs or Arcanite Crystals that a server would get over a very long period of time, all achieved by a few players instead of thousands and thousands.
I donât understand why layering exists in higher level zones at all.
Until he has 160k in his bag, he doesnât have 160k. Plus that much would tank the market.
Layering is server wide is one of the issues.
Sharding would have had alot more control on this issue.
Blizzard should have had a limit or physical cap on Layering to prevent this. Even the most mundane resource that is abused like this can be catastrophic for the server economy.
Guys, I just used layers to farm 18 octodecillion peacebloom. Your economy is ruined.
Thats the point, Tanking the Market of Rare resources is laughable, making Arcanite bars basically for free (would still need the alchemists to do it)
Rare resources NEED to be rare, its all part of the integrity and experience.
My suggestion for a fix is to only be able to complete a layer hop when youâre within view distance of your party lead. Iâm echoing this across multiple threads because it needs to happen.
While layering is itself a problem, this specific issue is because itâs so easy to swap between layers. If there were more restrictions on switching layers like a longer cooldown or requiring you to be within a certain distance to the leader, it would solve a lot of these problems
