You cant throw gold at bosses or players to make them die, they get epic riding first, and can buy all the enchants and consumables they want, but they were gonna farm that up anyway.

Gold is a mean to an end in wow, and until raid guilds start selling carries for gold, you wont be able to turn it into a whole lotta real power.

Farming gold wont make you strong, but farming naxx will.

This has happened in retail plenty of times. Usually Blizz does a rollback of some sort to fix the abused problem

These individuals that abused the system should be suspended for 30 days. The character needs to be stripped of everything (Including bank and AH items).

I 100% agree with you.

This is getting out of control. If an addon was created to assist in the layering issueā€¦That needs to be broken and Blizzard needs to severely limit what kind of addons are allowed(ban all addon).

But what does gold get you outside of boes, consumable enchants and riding skills / mounts?

You want to win in pvp or pve you need gear, gear matters more than gold, especially since you cant convert that gold to gametime in classic.

There alot more to do than raid or pvp, and you dont need a pile of currency to do them.

As weā€™ve seen with the XP farming, exploiting is now okay.
