I have DEL’d all Add-ons, renamed my Cache, WTF and Interface folders to CacheOLD, WTFOLD & InterfaceOLD. Emptied recycle bin and did a formal reboot (Start/Restart) - No effect, Fail. PC still locks up every time I launch WoW (Retail). This lock up of my pc has happened 4x in a row, never happened before, just started today 12 SEPT 2020. I have WIN10OS, fully updated. 250/50 internet conxn, and 16 GB RAM, this is not a pc issue nor a connectivity issue.
I am having the same issue. Just started this morning at some point. I uninstalled wow and battlenet. I have reinstalled battlenet a few times. I have ran diagnostics on my computer. It is something to do with battlenet freezing the computer. I have to force it down with the power button. It is something on their end causing this.
Go download latest video drivers. Teboot computer Than launch battel and click setting uncheck hardware accelerator box. Than try login.
This is the fix most people are reporting is helping them.
Hey there,
We are tracking this over on this main thread. So far, for folks who did not resolve the issue by reinstalling graphics drivers using DDU, the fix has been to disable browser hardware acceleration.
To disable hardware acceleration, make sure you’re logged out. Click the settings cog wheel just above where you’d normally log in. Once you’re in settings, click on advanced then uncheck the box for browser hardware acceleration. Should be good to go after that!
Hope the info helps. Let us know how things go!
Hello, I have the same problem but when I turn off hardware acceleration the game becomes choppy. I also have a gtx 1060.
