You can launch it from the battle net client. Just make sure the battle net client is open prior to changing the files.
So when I right click on the hotfix folder go to properties, I don’t see a security tab.
World of Warcraft > Retail > Logs > right click Hotfix or Tooltip > Properties > already in the first tab under General > Bottom Left > Check Read me > Apply
Dude… they LITERALLY said it is in their side the problem and that was said in THIS topic. What are you talking about
The workaround does indeed work, however when I log out after launching the game from the files I get a mini patch thing on the blizzard app that resets it. So I have to set it each time I want to play. Still it’s nice to see what it was like to not get that jittery lag… I almost forgot how it was without it.
Yea even if i do the workaround while logged in it doesnt work i think im doing something wrong. Again this is why blizz just needs to fix their stuff
You can’t be logged in. Close your game completely, but leave the battle net launcher up.
Yea i did that just frustrating i got it now. Just over bliz fix your crap already its been damn near a week
Don’t want to say I told you all (and myself) so that Blizz doesn’t fix bugs on the weekends for some reason, but, unfortunately… and I really hate that it’s the case, but…
I get that. I don’t expect a fix this weekend… Just a response is all. Like hey… we’re all out at the mall having a blast… anything lol
Yep some kind of update in general would be nice
Here’s another suggestion: hire more forums staff, let some people do it part-time. Clearly the forums are understaffed.
seems twitter is as well since no one has replied there in over 5 hours either
Blizzard is running a large MMO serving a player-base well over a few million people, and a huge part of their game is leveling. 8.2.5 is a large update that also requires you to quest. Questing is used for dailies, leveling up, achievements and is just a massive part of the game. If this was a small indie team I would not expect a quick fix, but a WEEK of an issue that is affecting multiple people and having blues only respond a few time with some random fixes and having no update if Blizzard is making any progress is absolutely insane and terrible for any MMO.
Please refrain from insulting people in the future, especially when it’s not called for.
I¡m really very disappointed with this company. I love the story of WOW and I bought it a week ago because several friends recommended it to me. It makes no sense that a company as big as blizzard takes so long to get a solution to this bug. The worst part is the lack of communication by blizzard about the progress of this error. I will not pay more.
This kind of thing happens once every year or so, and we all just came to accept it. I can assure you that your purchase won’t have been a bad one when the game is back up.
The last time a major bug like this happened (afaik) was over a year ago, when the game was accidentally wiping quest logs on zoning.
On the plus side, it seems like this kind of thing only happens once and the bugs are never repeats.
I hope this won’t kill WoW lol i mean if this bug persist for a looonnng time people might say **** it and go play another game and then WoW dies because of lack of customers. I know it won’t happen and its just a joke, but damn does Blizzard made a bad call here by staying silent. Its like they have been humiliated and are afraid of admitting their mistake.
Blizzard is in one of the most privileged positions of any game dev: they charge us $15 a MONTH to play, can break this game and make us more sad and scared than angry, and still get us back afterwards with little to no subscriber loss.
We’re mad because we love your game, Blizzard, not because we want to be aggressive. Please stop ignoring us like this.
Happening to me too. If the quest turn-in starts a cinematic, that gets skipped. I’m having to go on wowhead to see what I missed.
Same here. All the new 8.2.5 cinematics are getting skipped
