Azurite traits matter quite a bit, Essenses can be the difference between completing a key(specially when you are in a bad group). The idea that you can just swap specs and you are fine is only true in the most basic keys, really, unless you are in a really good group.
I dont even bother to heal or tank anymore because of the Azerite Traits an Essences. Ab from what I can see in this thread im not alone.

sir this is my wipe, in my turtliest setup i have to go through 3 death cheats and 4 low hp procs to get tio death, im sorry im tanky, yaknow, as a tank.
edit: im also taking about my main, not my alt dk that i post on.
my main is a pally ive put the work into, my dk is a side project to keep things fresh.

Most people stop tanking or donât like tanking because DPS act horrible and make the dungeon or raid painful. This is especially true in LFR/LFD.

Yeah the tank ess grind is literal cancer. What is it, like You to fly to old outdated content to get a R3 null barrier minor, then you have to fly over to get like your R3 Nazjatar vision⌠Dps essences are easily replaceable and negliable. while tank essences arenât balanced at all or ever buffed if underperforming.
I think only Anima of death is decent to get, and even then itâs powerful yes but itâs a 2 minute cd to do what⌠my dps spec does⌠as a normal generic 30 second ability while im completely unable to kill anything as a tank the other 1 minute 59 seconds.
I wish tank specs had better st and world questing damage though⌠WOD had like 60-80% Tank spec damage to DPS in and out. And it was great and ques werenât bad. Now Tanks are bad and itâs a horendous 10 dps to 1 tank ratio.
That is true, but I also expect that to go away next expansion which will significantly assist with that.
Realistically this late in the expansion the best we could hope for is a removal of azerite reforging costs which would be great but unfortunately unlikely.
I am in the process of learning to tank, I can tell you now that pulling a mob that you donât need to pull, even if there is no danger and it takes all of a few mins extra gets you crucified (even on low level keys, and when itâs my key) . you need pretty thick skin to learn how to tank in WoW
thankfully i have a mate on disc who is helping, if he wasnât there I recon I would have quit tanking long ago, which is a shame because I do find it quite enjoyable
They really should though. The idea is that it doubles in cost every time, but you have three pieces is ridicolous. It basically means that say, every time you swap, the cost multiplies 8 times. (2* 2 * 2), If you say, want to swap from one gear set to another, and back, the cost multiplies 64 times (2^6) and you have to wait a WHOLE week to do one gear swap. Itâs completely unfriendly, azerite gear would be healthier if they could switch it on the fly with talents or switch per spec. IDGAF if say you could buy smart gear as a upgrade for say, another piece of azerite, and then use it on a azerite residue piece for say 2000 azerite to have it work as your offspec piece.

I agree that players relations donât effect your skill as a tank, this is true, regardless of if you communicate or not does not mean you cannot do your job as a tank.
I agree also that communication is rarely needed, especially this late into an expansion when most content is being repeated.
Again I agree, the fights are not that complex, just hold aggro which is not hard and do the mechanics, which mostly are not too bad.

PVP is an absolute dream as a tank, as long as your happy defending. we dont have the raw dps to take out many classes solo, but jeez we stay up forever!
i find if i basically wait on a flag in a bg i can easily hold off 2 or 3 while getting the message out to dps to come to where i am. 9/10 I am still alive when they get there and with consecrate no one else is capping that flag!
This too. From my experience as a tank. 90% of dps donât even know, or care about the abilities mobs have that say, stun their main target for 30 seconds AKA MR immobolized tank, and blizzard has a bad habit of thinking "GEE, you know what would be fun??? Lets put 6x 30 second stuns flowers that require TEAMWORK in a pug to clear⌠and lets have them patrol underrot and be easily pulled by only bad players, only 20% of which even have a ability keybound, thatâll be FUN!

PvP Vendor in Warspear, Arena season 16, donât recall exact vendor but itâs one of them outside the bank there.
oh yeah, if people arent whining at you to play RET. like sure lemme just sacrifice azerite armor, neck essences, and a weapon cuz i dont have those nor the time to put into those.
but otherwise any kind of BG is my jam man, i unironically like wintergrasp, and any one with points are just fun.
think my favorites gotta be temple of kotomongu tho.

I love arathi basin, dunno why but its always been a favorite of mine, temple is rapidly becoming a close second. just annoys me with someone with 250k HP runs up and takes the flag before i can get to it lol
I tried tanking my fair share and it wasnât the enjoyable part that killed it for me, it was the DPS.

Yeah, I lucked out keeping this DK kind of up to snuff. I can survive almost all content just going all out dps with consecrated flame but the 8.2 raid tank essences is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread for any âhardâ content. So I wonât be getting that essence if I continue to play after this month.
