Lack of gear is starting to demotivate me

Everyone complained about too much loot… You guys got what you asked for. :woman_shrugging:

I only complained how the forging system negatively impacts the gear progression curve. Never had a problem with plenty of loot options tho personally. Even though you weren’t talking to me.

No, only really the higher end players.
Now that same group is complaining about not enough loot.

The forums go ignored.
And majority of players just complained that the weekly gave them repeats or crummy gear.

I fail to remember how ‘everyone’ wanted less loot.

Personally think they went from one extreme to another.

I wasn’t one of those complaining. I loved having tons of gear from many different sources.

People have stopped helping others do low keys, because your weekly reward is based on the lowest of the last 4 keys you did. If you do a +12, then help out guild mates with a +5 before reset, your reward is scaled to +5 unless you do 3 more +12’s before reset.

Absolute dumbest design I’ve ever seen.

Its not jsut other people…this is how my main’s adjust lol.

MY BE DH rng has really liked. 176 with waaaaaay less work than the MM I thought would be the main. She is 172…and rng hated her all the way. To the point I don’t want to redo this all in mythic lol.

That DH has gotten a world boss drop, LFR raid drop and even a 181 weapon from the special callings (the pick 1 of 2 dungeons or do the larger scale/harder wq) .

So yeah…I like her more some days.

They catered to the small number of players who think “I don’t want other players having good gear unless they play as many hours as I do”, and so for these players the current loot drought is great. It creates “separation” – i.e., between those who grind their faces off to brute force the RNG and those who don’t or can’t. This is the crowd SL is designed to cater to. The rest of the players need to wake up and realize this and decide if they wish to continue to play along or not.

Thats not how that works.

If you do a single 12, you get a 12.
if you then do a 5, So you’re keys are [12,5] you still get a 12.

If you do 12,11,9,5
You get a 12 as your first option
and you get 5 as your 2nd option as 5 is the lowest of the top 4 [12,11,9,5]
If you were then to do a 10, the 2nd reward becomes 9 as 5 gets pushed out of the top 4 because of the 10, [12,11,10,9]

But when you mouse over the icon, it says your weekly loot will be the lowest of the last 4 keys you did.

i.e. I did a +8, the key before that was a +0. In game it says “Your weekly reward is based on the lowest of the last 4 keys (Currently Mythic Level 0)” As I did a +0, then a +8.

Unless my in game ui is bugged?

Mine says Top 4 and has been pretty consistent in being the top x from last weeks chest

You need to look at the terrible RNG from Blizz’s perspective. Let’s say you were full BiS, got all the drops you wanted, and cleared the raid all in 2 weeks, what are you going to do from there? Most people would just cancel their sub and wait for the next major patch.

Blizz knows there are more people who will continue to play to get the stuff they want then there are people who will quit because their RNG sucks. Their goal has always been to keep as many active subscribers as possible.

i ha e never talked about master looter love. you assume i talked about it but i dont.

Hop on my alts and get them leveled.

Not getting anything because they dialed back drops so much is just as likely to get people to quit.

I guess it should have loot but drop rate there isnt exactly the point of focus. Lfr is a tourmode for people who want to do the story without actually worrying about legitimate raiding.

Its a trivial difficulty. It should reward trivial things. Or anima. Cause thats what we get for normal raid bosses lmao

That’s some pretty serious gaslighting there. People’s complaint about titanforging was how it made the gear that drop feel bad because it didn’t RNGrandomforge.

Blizzard are the ones who took it to the next extreme of “Well I guess people just don’t want loot at all”

Theres many reasons a person doesn’t bother with raiding. That said you’re not really experiencing the storyline when the canon cinematic is in mythic only. Blizz dropped the ball on that

For whatever reason, this dev team doesn’t seem to comprehend the necessity for rewards and a feeling of progression. It’s pretty weird.

There are so many ways Blizzard could provide other incentives to keep doing content. But they just don’t bother. They just make everything take longer.

Even as a casual for my alts I’m finding it very annoying to gear. Either do the grindy pvp gear or the normal dungeon slog. Zzz

and no I’m not paying for gear

edit- For my alts I’m just going to wait til catch up gear comes out

Same here. Some of these people keep making a dumb assumption that if we got our gear faster than we would complain about there being nothing to do and that’s just false. We have alts, we have new roles or classes we wanna try but with the crap system of shadowlands its made it pointless. That’s why I liked legion/bfas system it gave me motivation to start the healers and tanks I now have. With shadowlands system I’ve lost all motivation and incentive to level those same healers and tanks.
