Kyrians least voted covenant to play based on poll

I picked em because I feel as a paladin it would fit the astetic and over all theme of the character

I chose ven’thyr because they look cool not because of there abilities. No matter how OP Kyrian gets I will still choose ven’thyr because I don’t want to be the basic boring Kyrian’s.

Or they’ll just stop developing content for the least played covenant and what you get is what you get.

They could give them the best abilities, best transmog, pets, mounts, whatever, the game has ever seen.

I still wouldn’t choose them. They are way to much blue, golden, white and remember of Alliance and/or lightforged Draenei. This is disgusting and boring.

Also I believe the light, the lightforged and also the kyrians are not that good the Alliance players want them to see.

So to me it’s not even a possible option to choose the kyrians. I will never do so.

But you do love it right? Being assimilated and become a part of a collective hive mind is kinda like my kink.

Everyone loves the Borg right? What kind of monster would hate them?

Also I don’t believe nobody ever fantasize about themselves getting bonded by some fleshy monsters and being assimilated into the Swarm like Kerrigan did.

In theory. Pally have zero mobility and almost all pally i saw saying about covenant say will venthyr or night fae just for more mobility

Everyone is looking at Venthyr because no one will ever turn down a blink ever. It makes me sad that Maldraxxus is only getting a shield, and one that you have to channel to get and isn’t even instant…

That may have as much to do with your grammar and spelling as anything you have to say.

I honestly thought of Les Claypool before Optimus.

Cat… short for caterpillar… you know like the heavy equi…Well you got me there… I must admit I have only ever seen the original one time many years ago and have never read the book.

I’m hoping the Kyrian one will give me a pair of wings at some point. Probably not, but I will wait and see.

Why is not surprising that a HMP would want to be a Kyrian and then be condescending when people don’t want to be a part of that faction

honestly none of the covenants are particularly appealing to me right now.
i will probably go venthyr, at least at first, because I want to see how kael’thas’ story pans out (assuming we don’t get the full story through the general zone questing while leveling)

but for actual abilities, as a primarily mage pve player none of the covenants look all that great. they either have good to okay class abilities and lackluster covenant abilities, or they have good covenant abilities but utter trash class abilities.

now I suppose you could say that its a “good thing” since it means each covenant has some sort of trade-off and none of them is strictly better than any of the others, but it also makes every choice just feel like a bad one. much as people complain about the “lack of choice” by being “forced” into one covenant or another because its just objectively better than any of the others, that is still preferable to all 4 choices feeling like bad ones.

for example, going kyrian gives me my best class ability by far, but the covenant ability is so close to worthless that i would probably forget it even exists.
Venthyr meanwhile gives me the best covenant ability (one that people keep saying will be mandatory for high tier m+) but the class ability is basically worthless in pve.

the problem with trying to make all choices equally valid, is that all to often it just results in all choices being equally bad.

Its to the point currently, that while I have long been in favor of each covenant having their own unique flavor, i’m starting to be won over to the idea that each one should have their own version of each of the current covenant abilities (just flavored accordingly) that you could swap between like swapping talents. (or… and this is probably an unpopular opinion, i’d even be okay with the covenant abilities being swappable on a cooldown or at least require an npc so that you can’t just swap back and forth at the drop of a hat)

at least that way your choice of covenant can be based around the class abilities alone rather than having to weigh the balance between two different choices. (and would also encourage them to put more work into making the class abilities equally appealing)

now i’m still not ready to pass any sort of final judgements, since we still haven’t seen basically anything about the soulbinding mechanic, and i’m hoping (and strongly suspect) that soulbinds are going to have a much larger impact on general gameplay than the abilities will. but this is simply my thoughts on it currently.

Boring faction with the worst Covenant abilities.

Why would you be surprised no-one picks them?

“Muh edge muh edge”. Nah dawg, it’s just that playing as goody two-shoes angels in Mac’Aree 2.0 is a bland proposition. Also, as a personal reason, terribly uninspired mounts.

I’m not placing my character in a covenant that doesn’t fit his aesthetic.

…Say’layn?

I think I would have enjoyed them more if they were the spooky goth valkyrs I knew and loved as opposed to greek angels but I don’t find them bad. I just think Venthyr and Night Fae are way cooler.

I have no idea why people think paladins absolutely must go kyrian thematically. My elf paladin is going to look rad in the ardenwealde tree armor and I see her as more of an oath of the ancients life and death nature worshiping type as opposed to a church of light paladin.

Okay, so tell me how it works then. I’ll wait. Because I know you’re wrong but I want to see what you come up with.

If the Kyrian Covenant didn’t exist, you’d have no souls going into the Shadowlands. If there’s no souls, there’s no Anima. Seeing as how the Shadowlands only exist thanks to Anima, if the Kyrian Covenant were to disappear the Shadowlands would die.

But hey, you just don’t want to admit that you’re wrong. I understand. It’s hard.

I’m not surprised that such an insufferably virtuous person like Clark made this thread.
