I would? Different people like different things.
The system was likely designed so the devs could go “see we gave you something”.
They didn’t actually think anyone would bother doing it.
You can speed it up a lot if you do multiple types of content, nobody is forcing you to stick to one way of gearing up.
Is really good gear, you just have to actually play the game to get it, I thought that casual disnt want free handout?
Yes? Did it often. Usually plenty of reasons to keep doing it, including but not limited to spending time with friends? This is why raiding guilds also sell mount runs and such when they’re done progressing. People find ways to enjoy things even without a loot carrot.
sounds like you’re upset you can’t rush to Ilvl 260 in less than a day
Mythic raiders dont have a full set until 4-6 months into a tier if ever, you get to use it as you get it
So you dont only want gear better than normal and medium m+ level, you want it faster than any other sort of gearing method?
Speed it up to the point where you have the gear for a longer period of time than it took to get the gear?
Well, I basically agree with you. I am currently enjoying playing this new stuff, so I’m not worrying about it too much. But, it’s really because I’d already decided not to grind anything. I’m doing the new quests and whatnot. But, the moment it starts to feel like “chores,” I’ll stop doing it and do something else - whether it’s an alt or playing a different game.
The whole Anima situation taught me something. Never ever ever ever ever waste time grinding something. It was far too overwhelming when the expansion dropped. Now, I feel like Anima is raining from the skies. I’ve actually started using it to heal my adventurer’s on the companion table.
I also know, that once 9.2 drops, I’ll be able to get Heroic Chains of Domination raid equivalent gear.
I’m not saying all of this to be negative. But, it’s true that the devs have basically created a game that makes grinding anything feel like a colossal waste of time. I honestly feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders for finally realizing this. But, it also means I sub at the beginning of patches to experience the story, and then I sub at the end of patches (or beginning of the next one), to take advantage of all of the catch up mechanics. After all, what might take me 6 months of grinding to achieve, will only take me a month or less later on.
It’s kind of freeing actually. I’d like for WoW to start creating a game that no longer feels like this. But, I’m not holding my breath. In the meantime, I get to enjoy other stuff between patches.
Welcome to the game
Welcome to me saying the gear system is trash…again lol
You’re not wrong, but specifically addressing the “I only do open world/solo activities” folks who were the biggest group complaining about nothing to get after maxed covenant sets.
Same! It was great that my alts could get geared enough to never really have issues doing anything.
You play the game you get gear, the more you play the more you get, the harder the content the better the reward is. Makes sense to me
stop ASSUMING you know what I want, son…clear enough?
That’s definitively one big flaw of the game that a ton of people noticed too. Its so much more time efficient to play the waiting game and grind things later in an expansion now. Its been like this for 3 expansions.
Haven’t even bothered caring about anima much cause i knew this would happen. Lesson i learned burning myself out on early Legion designs.
Makes sense to me too
But that doesn’t change that you have the gear for a shorter period of time than it took you to get the gear.
For me, I think I never noticed it much because I’m not a raider or Mythic + person. So, when others were experiencing these grinds, I was just out and about minding my own business doing other things. lol
Anima is what brought this realization to the “casual.” (or at least, to me)
That’s because Anima is literally Artifact Power. They just redesigned it last minute to be cosmetics only after the endless backlash they got about it for 2 expansions.
I’m convinced Anima’s original design was the same as the two previous systems.
right, which makes it doubly weird that people think they should be able to get a full set of raid-level gear in like a week of collecting bear asses
All I know is that I have gotten 6 - ilvl 207 pieces in 2 days without doing any actual farming…I can’t imagine how anyone could be complaining right now with loot falling from the sky like that
yeah…mindnumbingly boring.
