Okay so I earned, Tier 1 and 2 on my warrior, get to AQ and get the nasty bug armor, but I don’t want to look like that… why can’t I wear my T1 over it. The AQ gear looks horrific. Also, I am a dps warrior, but also tank and collected dreadnaught, but I can’t make my dps gear look like dreadnaught that I earned? Why not? That logic is this to deny me able to wear the gear I earned? It’s gear progression, but why am I hampered by this old, archaic system? Lemme wear the gear thats more visually cool looking then looking like clown murderhobo.

The answer is because they are two different sets.
If you want to look like t3 then put it on.

well for starters gear aquisition is also gear progression. so it would make sense with the theme of the game that dps gear would look like dps gear.
but even all that may sound silly to you so ill explain it this way.
if you could do that client side only and it wasnt forced on anyone else at all , it would be fine if you looked whatever way you wanted even if you were nekkid with a rusty spork.

People can already do that, be nekkid with a spoon without transmog, whats the difference.

Again you’re thinking classic andy style. What difference does it make? if someone earned the gear, they should be able to wear whatever they like. I don’t think you understand the concept of player choice.
it effects the counter gameplay of the decisions people make because of what someone is wearing.

new content and mechanics are welcomed to classic, but messing with the aesthetics is not so much, seeing meta locks with the same poly count as dalaran is enough already, don’t wanna see t3 tanks wearing bloodscale
