Kicked from groups for explaining tanking mechanics

Make some friends level with them

That is why everyone is grouping and AOEing dungeons to speed up leveling, right?

Jokes on them when they can’t get dungeons done. Find a good dungeon group and roll with them.

Dont be, these are retail kiddies that wont last in Classic. You on the otherhand will. Find better people imo! I believe in you, OP!

I think retail don’t no skull :skull: is first
May need to tell them

Crazy if true. Find a non dirtbag guild.

Yes sounds like you where in retail group
Don’t let this ruin You’re fun they just don’t get old school tanking expeshaly at low lvl tank has very little aeo agro and you can pull agro off tank
They also don’t get all attack this target or what :skull: means I would look for older players

In a month I believe the player base will be chiller.

Unnecessary.

Why not?

I’m fairly certain there’s more to this story than we’re getting.

Ya gotta mage aoe like da streamerz dude!

You’re supposed to spam demo shout and have the DPS put down a slowing blizzard or frost trap for you to kite tank.

Welcome to classic. Tanking doesn’t work like it did in vanilla

Stop pretending people weren’t AE’ing in vanilla. Remember that Demo Shout used to be a lot more threat. This type of group got it nerfed to where its at now.

Im not missinformed lol. Sorry bud.

don’t worry. the people who aren’t learning the mechanics now and are just spellcleave farming SM are going to have a rough time when they get to scholo, ubrs, etc. I have had dps focus my X and moon instead of my Skull target and my healer goes oom quick cause hes healing everyone in the group for not respecting kill order. You’ll fall in with people who know whats up eventually.

No there is no more to the story. This is exactly how classic was.

I understand where you’re coming from. People can suck sometimes, but the best you can do is just try to find people who understand the game and want to play like you do. Sounds like your guild wasn’t a good fit anyway, especially if they just booted you for trying to help people out.

Just as a note though, depending on the dungeon and the people in the group, it’s not the biggest deal to wait for sunders on the kill target at the start. If there’s a DPS who can take the hits and they kill it fast, just get threat on the other targets and let them handle it. If they can’t, they will die.

Sometimes all the explaining in the world can’t do the job of repeated runs back from the graveyard to drive game mechanics home.

Anyway, good luck!

There’s no accounting for how people will react to things. Someone muted me last night simply because I said “sorry dps filled up” for a deadmines run.

based on the context of what he said alone, yes. That’s a great thing. Too bad that people want to rush this like it’s retail. I found a hunter that lived up to the name of the old adage “HUNTARD” kept pulling and kept making the tank work 6X as hard to maintain aggro in RFC. He was the only one that died. After he left, we posted in the LookingForGroup channel and found a warlock that was well worth his weight. It’s always good to find someone that appreciates the methodology of a safe pull. I personally don’t like spending silver on a repair bill.

same, i had asked someone if they’d be willing to take a level 13 mage, then followed up with, hey are you still looking for dps like 4m later and found i was on his ignore list. That’s pretty crappy if you ask me. Just tell me you don’t want me instead of putting me on ignore. Oh well, his loss  got 3 RFC groups back to back to back because they liked my CC and mana/food help

When I’m tanking on my druid, and a ranged DPS pulls without my requesting them to, I just let them die.

thunder clap generates almost no threat. and it’s a rage dump for an abysmal amount of damage output.
