Duly noted.
In my experience thus far, if dps isnât FF on the skull or waiting for the tank to obtain threat first, they get educated. No ones ever been upset by advice (so far anyway). If they refuse to listen and continue their blast-fest, they get kicked. It happened twice already with mages in my group.
With that said, Iâve only run up to BFD. Havenât touched SM. I know, though, that most people who run SM want to AoE farm it for the âbig XPâ, which means you might have to change your tanking style according to the demand of the farmers. It kind of bothers me to say that because SM farming as it is now wasnât a thing back in Vanilla, but alas, times change.
Many a deaths in Wailing Caverns because mobs are running all over the place and attacking everything but the tank.
lol, you really want to play with those people in the first place Ziot?
sounds like good things happened to you, i wouldnât want to be in any of those groups or that guild.
that said, keep it simple. mark+/say kill skull first. then just do your thing and deal with the mess or just drop and get another group if theyâre driving you nuts. donât bother arguing with these peoples, it leads nowhere.
Thatâs clear.
Anyone who chains Battle Shout is an idiot because its almost no agro with a high rage cost. Chaining Demo Shout is a matter of having enough mobs hitting you to generate the rage to be able to Chain Demo Shout. Even then⌠if you have the agro⌠I still prefer to tab sunder after some Chain Demos(unless its like 6-10) to really lock the mobs without having to really force your rage down.
If the mages/warlocks go ham on the engage, theyâll pull agro and the mobs wonât hit you. You wonât generate rage. You canât use that rage to Chain Demo. Its a bit like jump starting a car. In a good AE group where they trust you, you probably have about 2-3 seconds before they go ham. If you arenât fast as hell on the agro and get into chain demo fairly quickly, theyâll find someone else. If you sit around telling them to âwait for sunderâ⌠youâre useless. If you make threats of death if they donât, theyâll point and giggle and kick you. Generally it can be as easy as a⌠âiâll hold the mobs but give me a sec to establish agro⌠ok?â.
But IF you can do it, youâll never be without a group. Its simply another tool in the box to be able to tank for an AE group. Has to be done a specific way, and you either can or you canât.
If it makes you feel any better, I think youâre the kind of tank that I prefer to have in dungeons.
I had a group recently where the tank ran from mob to mob, leroy jenkins style. A druid and another priest were tossing in heals. I was the healer but I felt kind of useless, unneeded and unwanted. It was too chaotic, so I left.
I like the tanks who have a more careful and calculated play style.
They might have seen you as an elitist know-it-all prick, but Iâve come to realize that I like the so-called âelitistsâ because they know the game well and likely have good tips and are probably good at their class and role.
Why are you feeling down from being able to get out of a bad guild?
On a side note, maybe trying to use thunderclap more often with a sunder here and there on multiple trash mobs can help?
yep, retail people need more time to learn what playing a game means.
Then you havent played WoW for very long
There has to be more to it, the way you act is probably too insecure and anxious, especially if nothing wrong is happening when people ignores you (nobodies dies, etc)âŚit just show how anxious you are and that definitely annoys people. I could be wrong but being kicked out of multiple groups and even your guildâŚIâm not sure others are the problem.
Anxiety is contagious and can annoys the hell out of people. I can tell you for sure that everything before lvl 50 doesnât need guides and stuff, let people learn from their mistakeâŚdonât force feed people with your recommendations when everything is doing smoothly.
Fury Prot isnât until AQ/Naxx, and once geared well. It doesnât help with threat lower levels and doesnât miraculously give warriors AoE threat.
I mean maybe you got unlucky,
but I have to do the same with my bear. I say âgive me 2 secs to get a maul up on skull and dps skull plsâ.
People usually comply.
My question for you is after skull is dead, do you continue to mark a skull?
You shouldnt be. You should be building enough threat on the rest that its a none issue by the time skull is dead.
Also rage management is key. You should be playing a balancing game of keep enough rage after each pack to have insta threat on the next. In other words, once you are ahead on the current pack, just build rage and save it for the next pull.
Should be easier for you to do this than me on my bearbecause you have a ranged pull when i dont. I have to body pull carefully because my only range require me to shift out of bear and lose all my rage.
You are not there to (explain) anything, you are there to message egos and kiss butt.
J/K best of luck on finding a new guild maybe it was a blessing in disguise for you.
No threat? Lol. Its used to help tankâŚi.e. Slowed attack speed and a stun. If your fury tanking (which you should be) you will have enough rage for shouts in like 2 attacks.
You are missinformed lol. You go fury low level for rage gen. Which in turn helps threat.
Oddly enough in most vanilla dungeons that was much quicker.
I think you are the misinformed one here. Anger Management > Unbridled Wrath(1 rage every 3 seconds vs maybe 1 rage every hit). And flurry is far down the tree. And you canât sit macro to get enraged anymore.
Transfer to my server. Ill heal for you and help you explain it. I wish more tanks would explain this at the start of any run. DPS that donât listen, will learn from corpse runs.
it is becuase of your whiney attitude. i have no problem tanking when people aoe or pull aggro. maybe you use your taunts to soon. either way i am tired of reading you complain about this, imagine your guild
Or the old vanilla players need to remove their goggles and realize not everyone wants to take 2h to complete a dungeon. Itâs time to hurry up boomer.
